Heaven, or hell, is what we create in the here and now.

Don't believe it is a physical place although I do believe God is here and the absence of God is also here.

First of all, we don't go to "Heaven" when we die. Instead we slide into a spiritual belief system that matches what we expected and were prepared for at the time we died.

The true Heaven is what we reach after many lifetimes. It is the situation described by Jesus as "The Kingdom" and others describe as Ascension or Total Enlightenment. Once we have achieved that state we need not continue with more lives on earth.

Heaven and Hell are in our memories.  The good is heaven, the bad is hell.  The hereafter is naught but the future.

Heaven is where Jesus is now,I Believe I will soon be there as well , Then after a while We will be coming back to this earth, For this earth is Gods, and it shell be put back under Gods command for I believe it is part of Gods heaven .It was on loan to man for a short time.

But Omni, there is also present, and foreseeable future.  For me, I can easily craft that into a personal heaven.  For a homeless family, they are living in a difficult space with no way to improve it.

I'm not arguing with you at all.  Your post was lovely, but I just wanted to point out the present.

Also, one can experience heaven & hell all at the same time.

And then there is personal, communal, community, worldwide....

I believe that Heaven is the dwelling place of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Who goes there? I am a Calvinist, so I will let God decide.

I don't know. But I hope I will know. It actually is Roman Catholic belief that people go to heaven. But I think that there are many references in the Bible that show that heaven is not thought as the end station, but rather a temporary place after the rapture and before the creation of the new earth where humans will live.

"But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness." (2 Peter 3:13)

"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea." (Revelation 21:1)

I believe that those two "worlds" will be (re)-united some day.

"And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." (Revelation 21:3-4)

That's probably a very literal interpretation for this forum and church, but I think it is moderate.

Is that a stairway you're selling Happy?

I read once that everyone takes their own cup to Heaven, we therefore drink of it as much as we can handle. And some people don't even have a cup and therefore simply experience a deep sleep between lives. But fortunately the Law of Karma and the Law of Rebirth ensures us many opportunities to become aware of who we are.

At some point a level of awareness is eventually reached where, as JamesK says, 'we need not continue with more lives on Earth'. As we approach that state of being "perfect", as our Father which is in heaven is perfect, then the Earth has no more to teach us.

Our soujourns into physical form then only come about out of service and love. The need to incarnate will be gone with the wheel being accomplished. We will become God-aware, Masters of Wisdom, or as St. Paul describes them, "just men made perfect", Heb 12:23.

Heaven could be here now, if enough of the world became God-aware. It's not a place but rather a state of awareness.

Not a Calvinist, but otherwise I'm with you. Heaven is where GOD is and where HIS children shall be.

Heaven is the abode of reunion.

Where God and the children of God enjoy the presence of each other without the various veils and blinders that come between.

Heaven is a place of openness where only that which is worthwhile is lifted up and enjoyed.

Heaven, also known as the Kingdom of God, is also reputed to be a party.

Grace and peace to you.

that's interesting, i've not heard this view before.

i wonder, do u believe that during this trek to total enlightenment that our achievements are only bound to earth or can this be done also on other planets or dimensions that hold similar values?

if only earth, do all similar lifeforms throughout the universe go to the same kingdom of christ, once total enlightenment is reached?

or is jesus just for our little rock?

once we make it to the kingdom, are we there forever? no more mysteries or questions...all is revealled?  what would one do there?

Hi lover of life.

Welcome to the kingdom, ah, wonderCafé.

Yes, once we make it to the kingdom, we are there forever.

In dry and prosaic terms, however, the "kingdom" may be little more than experiencing ourselves as the energy/spirit that we ultimately and eternally are, and experiencing that the totality of energy/spirit is a singularity: an inseparable whole in a unitive state of synthesis.

The form will perish, the substance is forever. When we believe that we are the form only, we are troubled. When we experience ourselves as eternal energy—as THE unitive whole in a state of synthesis—and realize that this is our ultimate self, then we've made it into the kingdom.

Then we realize that all is one, and all are one, and the unitive love which you espouse comes easy.

Hi "Lover" (I think I could get into serious trouble with that salutation!)

1 - our trek is good for all planets.

2 - I'm not sure what you think the "Kingdom of Christ" is. If that is a place where we all meet the man Jesus then No, we don't all go there. But if you are refering to The Christ Consciousness, which isn't limited only to that man named Jesus, then yes all souls in the universe end up there. Could be crowded but I'm told there is room enough.

3 - The man Jesus is not only reserved for our little rock but also to a small (and dwindling) subset of its inhabitants. But his teachings apply to all.

4 - Once we make it to The Kingdom we are free of our physical limitations and begin to really blossom - creating anything we want, learning, exploring.Or we could sit around on clouds for a while and eat cream cheese.

A couple more responses from off-line:

Rachelle:
Heaven is being in the presence of God. Heaven is the gift of eternal sanctuary and unconditional love that is promised to us when we accept Jesus Christ. Finally, we’re allowed to fully understand the small intricate wonders that we could only glimpse on Earth. The sunlight that used to creep in and out of the forest of trees becomes unfiltered warmth and light under
His direct gaze. Nothing to interrupt our connection. No need to hide or to accept the burdens of shame, disease, disability, ignorance, isolation, oppression, and fear. We are whole.

--Rachelle works as a lawyer's assistant, as well as serving on the boards of Students for Barrier-Free Access at the University of Toronto, and ARCH Disability Law Centre.

Alyssa:
Once I realized that God's imagination was so much bigger and than ours it occurred to me that it will be better than anything that I could conceive. I do know that it will be glorious to be in God's presence. I imagine it will be like those peaceful glimpses of grace that we experience here on earth.

I agree with Arminius.

I also believe that heaven and hell could well be the same place. If your soul is healthy, you think you are in heaven. If your soul is sick, you think you are in hell. I've been there.

The worst thing about jail is that you are stuck with people as warped as you.

Yes, this is the language of love. The harmonies of love vibrate through the universe: the harmonies of mathematics and the harmonies of music are also the harmonies of love.

Greetings!

I think heaven is a place.  I believe it is a place I (my soul/spirit) will go when I die. I believe it is a place where I will live in the presence of God.  I believe that when I dwell in this place in the presence of God all the things that were blurry and unclear in this earthly life will be clear and made understanding to me.  And much more . . .

Hope, peace, joy, love . . .

How does one "realize" what one can not know?  It would be my contention that Alyssa is imaging an imagination that ahe thinks is larger than her own imagination.  I don't think she's giving her own imagination enough credit here.

How can you be sure that she cannot know?

It is possible to know something, and even to be right about it, without being able to prove it.

Fine, Alyssa has tapped into the Mind of God and caught a glimpse of His imagination.  Either that, or Alyssa has to cut back on the Starbucks.

Sum knows ... that's an integral collective (ecclesia) of God or all that is ... something that many here would not like to know in the image that ignorance is bliss ...

I am a reciprocalists and believe mortal authority has this all upended ... why we have pancake day to celebrate the putting of thoughts back in order ... sublimely of course ... so those that like bliss   can stay in the light that blinds eM ...

Such things can warm the other side of those caught in a mental medium ... a thought provoking dimension?

It is like being a fly on parietal lobe ... those in sects that bug the extremes like the far right and left as extreme emotions and intellect in quantuum space ... that dimension that some of us stumble into with Mariah ... the wayward wind of God that's off there on the horizon ... stirring something up for interest ... looking for worms on the other side of the stone heart? Perhaps that was a heros heart that would rather go to war and let his honey stay at hommoe ogured ... a very bored psyche is not good once initated about god and where ID can be found ... generates citii ladies that means something entirely different to those that believe in possession ... the grip fades with the dimension of rapture ... unless you stumbled on to a mental case that is well planted like an oak ID hokey ...

Can L'ov wander? It is a dark mystery recall, and many folk would like discreesion to remain so they can be scro'd around like the Mormons ... that live in para dice ... a real gaamble for the ephraim genre ... sort of a cadre within itself ... close to Red Skeleton's humour over the fission catcher ... Gertrude? You just wouldn't believe the rest of the story if you're piously fixed ...
