Away for a bit

Hi Gang,
Before anyone panics that I have fallen down a well somewhere I thought I would drop a note to say that I will be gone, except for quick peeks, until the 17th of August.
Later today, like after I go to bed this morning, the family and I will be off to the Muskoka area to hang with some friends in the Lake Rosseau area. Swimming, sleeping, eating, lathering, rinsing and repeating.
Then I will drive home drop off the dirty laundry and head over to Hamilton where I will begin an odyssey to Kelowna so that I can hob with the knobs at GC-40.
I will possibly make a half-assed attempt to be on my best behaviour although probably not.
Take care while I'm gone.
I'm sure that the WonderCafe can manage with one less Calvinist for a couple of weeks. Not well maybe but at least adequately.

Have no fear, I'll keep the Calvinist flame burning whilst you are gone. Maybe I'll even swing into full extreme Calvinist mode.

Have a great time, RevJohn, and don't forget to pack the heavy duty pajama bottoms with the sturdy elastic. Wouldn't want to see you embarrass yourself at the campground.

RevJohn, I repeat what others have said. Have a great time on your well earned vacation. Relax and enjoy yourself. Have some re-creation. And be rested and refreshed for general council.

Hi all,
I'm back.
The week at Rosseau was fun though I appear to have aggravated my torn MCL.
It has been stiff all week at GC-40.
General Council was also quite the experience.
I truly appreciate getting to spend so much time with RevMatt. And getting to debrief one another on some very questionable bits of thinking and process made having to have those experiences somewhat less painful.
Since this is my first GC I think I came out of it with a deeper, if not better, picture of the bigger church.
Some very bright minds and some very dim bulbs. Quite the balance.
I'll be responding to comments made in the GC-40 forum and sharing thoughts elsewhere.
It is nice to be back home.
