BC&NY Party

Hello One and All;

Come into my Between Christmas and New Year's Party.  There is lots of virtual alcohol, eggnog.

All are invited: Conservatives, Atheists, Liberals, Agnostics, and Enlightened Ones whoever the hell else wants to come!!!!

There is no topic so feel free to discuss whatever you wish.

This party is in honour of Serena, our resident Drama Queen.  (and because I need an excuse to drink) Where would we be without her?

There are dart games in the corner.  Pool in the other corner.  There is a live band that plays music of every genre.  There is Christmas cake and a whole table of every imageinable goody.

Serenas a  drama queen?  I'll drink to that.

I'd like to discuss your drinking problem Austin.  You can't host a party and be drunk before the party starts.  You better visit Specialmom's thread and get a new year's resolution to deal with your problem.

Now Behave She_Devil.  Serena won't come to the party if you pick on her.  She is very sensitive you know.

The only drinking problem in this thread is that you haven't had enough to drink my dear.

......and now Karoake time

CHORUS:
Grandma got run over by a reindeer
Walking home from our house Christmas Eve.
You can say there's no such thing as Santa,
But as for me an' Grandpa, we believe.

She'd been drinking too much eggnog,
And we begged her not to go.
But she forgot her medication,
And she staggered out the door into the snow.

When we found her Christmas morning,
At the scene of the attack
She had hoof prints on her forehead,
And incriminating Claus marks on her back.

CHORUS

Now we're all so proud of Grandpa,
He's been taking this so well.
See him in there watching football,
Drinking beer and playing cards with cousin Mel.

It's not Christmas without Grandma,
All the family's dressed in black.
And we just can't help but wonder
Should we open up her gifts or send them back?
(SEND THEM BACK!!! )

CHORUS

Now the goose is on the table
And the pudding made of fig (ahhhhh!)
And the blue and silver candles,
That would just have matched the hair in Grandma's wig.

I've warned all my friends and neighbours,
Better watch out for yourselves.
They should never give a license,
To a man who drives a sleigh and plays with elves.
(Sing it, Grandpa!)  I am not a Grandpa yet.  (I hope.... you never know about these things)

Serena is a trouble maker.  A few weeks ago she made a thread about Car Garbage to make fun of Crazyheart and D1VA.  The problem she had with that is she was way off topic in another thread and Crazyheart and D1VA just asked her to stay on topic.  Lately, she derailed Oncelostandbroken's thread and Panentheist's thread with her whining about how the liberals are picking on the conservatives.

You should not be giving her this much attention Austin.  She thrives on it.

Now its Starlight's turn to whup Austin's butt in Karoake!!!

Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer
had a very shiny nose.
And if you ever saw him,
you would even say it glows.

All of the other reindeer
used to laugh and call him names.
They never let poor Rudolph
join in any reindeer games.

Then one foggy Christmas Eve
Santa came to say:
"Rudolph with your nose so bright,
won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"

Then all the reindeer loved him
as they shouted out with glee,
Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer,
you'll go down in history

Aerogal's stab at karoake

Jingle Bell Rock

Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock
Jingle bells swing and jingle bells ring
Snowing and blowing up bushels of fun
Now the jingle hop has begun.

Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock
Jingle bells chime in jingle bell time
Dancing and prancing in Jingle Bell Square
In the frosty air.

What a bright time, it's the right time
To rock the night away
Jingle bell time is a swell time
To go gliding in a one-horse sleigh
Giddy-up jingle horse, pick up your feet
Jingle around the clock
Mix and a-mingle in the jingling feet
That's the jingle bell,
That's the jingle bell,
That's the jingle bell rock.

Ooooh the party is picking up.  Serena still has not shown.  Oh well we will save some drinks for her.  That girl needs to loosen up.

Awesome song there Aerogal.  I do not believe that we have met before.  I am THE Austin_Powers of Wondercafe.  No relation to the joker on tv.

Starlight came and sang Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.  This party is awesome!!!

I am only here to  post once - not to party . Serena has apologized and that is good enough for me.Over the years since Wondercafe started Serena has become a different person than when she  signed on. So if someone has a relapse and confronts it and apologizes for what she said, I commend her for it.

Awww Crazyheart;  Don't be such a party poop.  Serena loves the attention.  I notice that in the years since Serena has been here she only has one defender.

Loosen up.  Have a drink.

Hey Austin;

You still have not dealt with your drinking problem.   Every time I see you you have a glass in your hand.  I'm gettin' worried bud.

I'll sit on the porch step of your party and sigh a bit as Serena works through her first Christmas without her dad...cheers to you, Serena...next year will be a bit easier.

Hi Austin_Powers,

That would make me #2 then.

For what it is worth this December makes it a full year since her father was admitted to hospital for emergency reasons, lapsed into a coma and died.  It has not been a holly, jolly, good time for her.

She has changed and she has grown since she first arrived.

Serena is by no means perfect.  None of us are either.

Still, she owned up to what she has done most recently and as the primary victim of her ranting I have forgiven her.

If it takes kicking someone while they are down to get your Christmas cheer on you should forgo the party motif and just get back to your drinking.

I'll let myself out thanks.

Grace and peace to you.

John

Well, I think i'll stay up tight in this manner, I'm intoxicated with the love of God ^^

However, good company and discourse is always a welcome sight ^^

Hows the weather where all y'all are?  I heard it's the first coast to coast white christmas in canada since the 70s ^^.

I participated in this thread against my better judgement.  I guess appearances can be deceiving.  I had no idea the Serena whom the others was referring to spent Christmas alone and her father died a year ago.   If I was in Serena's position I probably would have gotten in some fights and been nasty to people around me too.  I lost my Grandmother five years ago and the first Christmas without her I wanted to cry for the whole two days.  I was also not very nice to the people around me.  The first Christmas without my Grandma marked a whole new era.  My parents, my brother, my sister, my aunt and uncle and their families all went for Christmas to my Grandma's place.  When she died the place was sold but it is no longer my Grandmother's house.  I had spent summers with my Grandma and lots of overnight visits.  It was my second home.  That was the first Christmas of many that she was not there for.  I still miss her at Christmas.  The loss is intensified because her death changed our family forever.  It also pointed out to me that I also had lost one of my homes.  A place where I could go and be safe.  A place where I could go and feel loved no matter what.  My Grandmother's house still stands but it is not my home anymore because she made it a home.  That may be the loss you are feeling this Christmas Serena.  I don't know how I would have made it through my first Christmas without my Grandma alone like you.
