yeah, this site is open to everyone, not just UCCan.  we have a number of born again christians, and we all tend to get along in varying degrees!!  my favorite is consumingfire... he is my bro.  my favorite thing about wondercafe is that we can all talk about what our individual journeys are like... i love to hear and learn from others, and find that it can even challenge my faith, if i am open to that.

i think that the big thing is to just be accepting of other peoples ideas and what their personal faith journey is for them, and that even if it is different than yours, it can be just as 'christian'.  the biggest dust ups we tend to get are when one person or group of people discount anothers faith journey as 'un-christian' or 'evil', or worse yet an 'abomination'.  THAT is when sparks fly.

As noted this forum is open to anyone and we gets lots of dissention but mostly in good humour.

Many members are from the UCC and yet even there we vary widely in our journey and our beliefs.

For info on the beliefs of the UCC, you can check the web site for the articles of faith of the UCC.  But how that is interpreted varies alot here. 

There are good threads going on, sadly most right now in the Religion section relate to the bus ads, but that will fade in time.

So welcome, join in and ask questions, post ideas and have fun.  If you post where you live, you may also get some suggestinos of good area churches to try.

 Welcome jonlmeds - ditto to what everyone said. This place is a bit like a church for me (though I have one in real life and actually work there).  There are wonderful people and we all learn a lot from each others paths.

This is an interesting forum, I am a Christian and kinda check things out before jumping in...it too my first online commuity...some threads can be a little heated, but the people are really nice and for the most part, they respect the beliefs of others and expect the same in return.

Personally, I tend to follow the 'if I can't say anything nice, I won't say anything at all' rule of thumb...it's better to live in peace with all men :)

 Be strong in your faith here, as some members are going to take you to task every time you open your mouth, so to speak, to state your beliefs.  Usually there is another fellow Christian nearbye to back you up. Just thought I would give you the heads up there. And some members, Christian and none, LOVE to debate and will split hairs over every syllable. I am  not speaking in a derogatory manner of them, just stating the facts. So be strong, camper!
