Hi everyone,
I'm working on an article about introverts in the church and I'm looking to interview a few introverts about their experiences in the church. It would be super quick and over email. If you're interested, please email me at jillianbell90@gmail.com.
Thanks,
Jillian

Welcome to WonderCafe, Jillian.
I hope that you get some good material for your article.
I am wondering how one knows whether or not he is an introvert.
I cannot recall any threads on introverts. I am opening a new thread here in Social so that we can have a discussion without derailing your thread.

Hi Jillian:
I just gave you some material for your article in my reply to naman's thread: "Discussion Regarding Introverts."
Actually, I overcame much of my introversion by joining the United Church. I felt very accepted by my small congregation, dared to sit on a few committees, and even dared to conduct some lay services, which were well received.
I think church involvement is a good way to overcome social shyness.

Introversion is not the same thing as shyness. There are unshy introverts, and shy extroverts. Introversion means that you get your energy through being alone and then spend it when in the company of others, as opposed to extroversion which means that you get your energy from being with others and then lose it in times when you are alone.

Thanks, Jae. Good point! In this case, I get my energy through introversion, and find an outlet for it in extroversion.
Social shyness probably is just a social handicap that can be overcome by socialising.
