FRONDS/BOUGHS

In a book I was reading there were several mentions of this - Pine Fronds. Now I don't want to get picky but I would say that they are Pine Boughs.

What do you think - fronds or boughs?

Yes.

(Though to be honest, when I hear 'fronds' I generally think of palm branches_

I'd use "fronds" if I was talking about single leaves: like palm, banana, fern, seaweed... and "boughs" if branches were involved.
