genties & ladlemen of WC,
this is a humble request of you for prayers, hopes, mindful moments, commiserations, yells to the unknown dark, etc for my wife's father who has been admitted to hospice for pulmonary edema and congestive heart failure
he's 87. i still remember him in his dapper suit at our wedding. quite the awesome fellow. republican. thinker. widely read (you should see his library). 6'4". awe inspiring hand shake. gave his all for his country. generous. kind. has a voice and a laugh like a treant. hard worker. great family man. good lip reader.
here's to continue in sharing in the common human experience and trying to keep ourselves from getting too much in the way...
much love to you all

Thoughts and prayers for your father-in-law, Inanna. He sounds like a strong person, so hopefully he can recover.

Me as well, Inanna. Praying, thinking, hoping, for your father in law and all of you.
Edit: I am so sorry Inanna! That came out all wrong. Your father in law. I am thinking of the man you are concerned about and and about you and your wife and sending hugs. I was just talking to my family and your description of your father in law, reminded me of my late grandpa, miss him, and grandma's not doing well and I felt you...don't mean to get in the way, but to say, I feel what you're going through and pray all will be well.

Thinking of you as you go through this difficult time of these specific health issues of your FIL - may you, your wife, and all those walking with you at this time be sustained and carried. Saying a prayer right now.

Caring thoughts and cyber hugs heading towards you and your extended family. It isn't easy watching while someone approaches their end here on earth.

I will pray for you and your wife Innana. Take care and hopefully this man you seem to have a great admiration for, will go gently into the light.

I'll drink to that! And a toast to your father-in-law, who lived a great life and need not fear death.

inanawhimsey, as you used the word hospice, i have a sense that you are walking the last leg of the journey with him.
may you be surrounded by love in these days, and that when tired folks let negativity get in the way, that you find a way to move past it....that you just be able to be there for each other and him.
sounds like a great person to journey with

Just saw this Inanna. It wasn;t too long ago that you walked this same path with your mother. Now again with your Father-in-law. My loving thoughts are with you, your wife and all those in your circle.
