So after doing the boot room floor, we are putting things back in the room, and I found myself once again faced with the question of the old letters: should they stay or should they go...
I called Mom. She encouraged me to leave the past behind me and just throw them out, at least from one person, which was a lot of letters, 13 years of letters. I just kept the drawings and poems and the last letter (typed), plus the last handwritten one (from the previous year). Then I went on to all the rest of the letters and I reduced my liquor store box to a 1" thick courier box, and I feel lighter! I feel good to have thrown a lot out, putting the past behind me, focusing on the now.
