to a virtual Hallowe'en Party on Wondercafe, what kind of costume would you wear? (Virtual means money, sewing ability, and material availability are not a problem , what would you dress yourself up as?)

Gosh! Most of the fun of dressing up for me is seeing what costume I can make at minimum cost - an old green sheet once made a surgeons 'greens' while my husband wore his pajamas and housecoat and dressed as my patient. A large remnant of grey material made a shroud that, with accessories, has gone to parties on my son, daughter, friends and me for over twenty years. /

So virtual - price and skill no object. I'm thinking Eve leaving the garden of Eden. Virtual also means a slim, youthful body. My costume would be flesh-coloured and fit like a second skin. I would have flowers in my hair and perhaps a few fig leaves strategically placed.

oh my, seeler, you are virtually risque. I want to dress up as a pirate. I have before, but I could virtually have a peg leg, a hook and a parrot!!!

I like the classic costumes - witch, skeleton, zombie, etc.
When you open it up like that though - maybe Kate Middleton on her wedding day. She looked pretty good!

I'm actually thinking of virtually dressing up as a Queen . . . perhaps Queen Anne of Boleyn! I sure hope she had jewels !!!!!

A queen from the past would be fun too! :)

Beloved, would that be Anne Boleyn with or without her head? I think the head would help keep the necklace on....

I was thinking it would be fun to go as a minion from Despicable Me. I would have no idea how to create the costume in real life, but in this virtual world I look great!

Definitely the head! And whether or not she actually wore a crown . . . I will - with diamonds, and rubies, and emeralds, and . . .

I could spend the day dressed up as the Grim Reaper. But, I am afraid that I would give nightmares to the other tenants of this seniors apartment building. -Too close for comfort.

Hi Beloved,

Hmmmmm. Green Lantern. There are 7200 of them so that is a lot to choose from.
Stel of Grenda would be a sweet costume to fabricate.
Grace and peace to you.

I went to a party once as the Grim Reaper, complete with red paint on a scythe. No one ever figured out who I was. It seemed sort of morbid, so although I still have the costume, wouldn't do that again.
Think it would be fun to go as a squirrel, raccoon or rabbit....upright of course.
A kangaroo would be fun....but I can't hop.
A bit difficult to go out as a whale....maybe a dolphin - fish out of water....
Witch

I'd probably go as a Witch.. you know jeans, t-shrit...

I would go as Wonder Cafe.

Witch . . . now that's not the costume I think a witch would wear - perhaps a pointy black hat with the jeans and t-shirt?
What would "Wonder Cafe" as a costume look like, Wolfie?
Green Lantern - I think the boys of the Big Bang Theory might loan you their green lanterns for the right price, Rev John.
I'm not ready for the grim reaper yet naman, please pass me by.
gecko, what would you hide in the kangaroo pouch?

Hmmm....good question, Beloved. If a cold night, maybe some warmer mittens, a little jug of interior warmer (if you know what I mean)......have to ponder that a bit more....

A friend of mine dressed up as a narwhal whale one year - it was a very creative costume!

I'm tempted to stay home, then later claim I showed up as the Invisible Man. No one ever figured our who I was... or if I was there....

Hi Beloved,
Green Lantern - I think the boys of the Big Bang Theory might loan you their green lanterns for the right price, Rev John.
To be honest I would prefer to own rather than rent.
I suspect that when it came time to account for that purchase I might need some time in the doghouse.
The lanterns also come in Blue, Yellow, Orange and Violet. I imagine Red and Purple will be available before long.
Grace and peace to you.
John

Did they have a long tusk/tooth? That would have been fun - go around poking people.

One classic (iconic, even) costume that I have never actually done is the 1931 Bela Lugosi Dracula. You know the one. Tux, long black cape, slicked back hair, fangs. Alas, with the current state of my hairline, the 1922 Nosferatu version (bald, hideous, rat-like fangs, clawlike fingers) is probably more realistic.

She did indeed have a long tusk. I seem to recall it was made from a tube and covered in the same fabric that she used for the rest of the costume.

Since it is virtual as a mermaid-maybe the original starbucks mermaid before she was sanitized-with some appropriate seashells-and like seeler-my virtual body is smaller than my real one-by about 60 lbs!
In real life I often wear my princess Fiona Costume-she's the gal that married Shrek

Fiona the princess, or Fiona the ogre?

I think I may have hit on a timely and winning costume.
Just have to work out a few kinks.
I hope to go as Senator Duffy, my daughter will tag along as Nigel Wright.
When the door opens I will not yell "Trick of Treat" but rather, "Give me my entitlements."
When the homeowner complies, and they will or I will rise to defend my good name with a prepared speech, I will not thank them but I will turn and leave.
Then my daughter will spring into action by cutting a fake cheque to the homeowner reimbursing them for the cost of the entitlements.
I wish I had thought of this last week. As it just popped into my mind this morning I don't have the time to put everything together.
I hope somebody else somewhere has.
Grace and peace to you.
