Merry Christmas all - so far I am enjoying my Christmas day with my hubby, my daughter, and my sis. Turkey was great - and I thoroughly enjoyed the carrots, turnips, and potatoes.
Going to play some games now.
Hope all is well with all!

Belated Merry Christmas to All the Wee Elves and Faeries who come to the WC. I hope you all had lots of love and laughter.
Man oh Man,I got caught swinging on a big icicle on a falling tree in Toronto over the holidays, our big ice storm. My electrical power set sail, left the shore about 3 a.m. on Sun. Dec. 22nd. and wasn't seen again until today late p.m. on Dec.26 coming into the harbour.
My daughter arrived to rescue me, Daniel, and our cat Mitzi. She brought us to her place in Barrie. We drove to Aurora on Dec. 24 and spent a very festive xmas eve there with her husband's family and friends. Back again for a big dinner, about 20 or so folks on xmas day.
I and my cat were rather spooked out with all the strange unforeseen happenings...whew......!!!.... but we survived and arrived home safe and sound today, Boxing Day. We've had no power, no heat and no water since Dec. 22 in my highrise of 195 apts. so I don't know how all the people made out but I trust there were no mishaps. I didn't get a chance yet to talk to anyone. I lost about $100. in frozen food from the fridge freezer. My daughter bought me some new supplies/groceries on our way down from Barrie.
Amen..and Amen....its good to be home again! Its rather unexpected and unsettling to have to gather up one's clothes and one's wits and evacuate the premises........be homeless... its a weird scenario.

Merry 3rd day of Christmas (it's 1am here).
It was a busy Christmas Day but was a delight. Boxing Day has been a nice quiet day, complete wtih some wonderful company.
Looking forward to day 3, and then day 4 is Christmas family time for my husband's family.

Merry Christmas all! Had a busy time with travel, then family at one family house party Christmas Eve- complete with Santa (theatrical family member in costume), carolling, complete with instrument playing nephews, buffet style finger food and desserts that was fantastic, and a game. A visiting aunt and uncle got to meet and get to know my husband a bit. They'd never met him. It was nice.
Christmas Day, homemade family brunch (different house), lounging around opening a few presents, watching Christmas specials on TV (host's choice), a family friend dropped by for a visit, full turkey dinner, rum and eggnog, wine, and each person taking turns to play their favourite songs on the stereo, lots of laughs (especially when my dad, who's now a senior, cranked up Lady Gaga, reminisced about Pink Floyd, and when my husband attempted an Irish jig to the Pogues, and when the whole family at one point was doing yoga poses and my dad almost tipped over- weird family, what can I say?). We went to bed at almost 1 a.m. last night. Brunch out in my hometown today, a bit of sightseeing to show my husband a few popular/ nostalgic spots he hasn't seen- it was a clear sunny day- then hustle bustle of travel to get home again! Busy three days! I am full up on food, I think for a week (we got a giant Toblerone for Christmas- just in case)! We didn't do the family travel/visit last year- it was quiet- so this year was actually, surprisingly, nice. Busy (the travel part and dividibg our time between two houses always is), but nice. Fun, laid back, no family fueds, not too serious. Probably the best in years. It was non-religious (these family members aren't religious), pretty much how Christmas has always been in my immediate family growing up (this time no high drama though). I went to church last Sunday. All in all- very good. I feel very fortunate.

Oh! On Christmas morning we had coffee on the patio and saw two beautiful tiny hummingbirds with bright pink heads, like this! I don't remember ever seeing them in the winter here, even though our winters are mild. I think that's rare. In the Haida aboriginal tradition, they are messengers of joy!:

Maybe they were these. I usually see them in the spring and summer. Never so vibrantly coloured! They were stunning and definately joyful to watch!
