The month of May arrives this week. What are some things you do, or things that happen, only in the month of May?

Usually I spend an increased amount of time outside, getting pleasant, gentle exercise and observing the world turning ever greener.
This year I don't know how it will play out. It is abnormally cold. Seems to be continually raining or snowing. Hard to imagine spring getting here!
We have a couple of family birthdays in May. Gardening time arrives.

Grandson's birthday.
Granddaughter's big dance show at the Playhouse.
Bowling league finishing its season.
Square dancing having it's last 'fling' before the summer - each club in the area seems to have something special scheduled before the season is over.
Other events winding down.

MIL's and BIL's birthdays - both are gone now, but are remembered fondly on their birthdays.
Niece's birthday - she is still here, and we rejoice and celebrate the wonderful woman she is.

I am finding that I can't post church events as so often they move. Pentecost for exampel this year is June...so can't say it always happens in May or June

Yes, depending on when Easter is, the rest of the seasons can change.
Depending on the year, we usually "open" up our cabin for the season. By open, I mean I go out and start doing spring cleaning. Hubby goes to the cabin (well his garage part of the cabin) all year long! So it's not the same as when we used to just go starting in May - we always used to aim to have as much done for the May long weekend as we could.

May is the month with the fewest letters in its name.

In 2005 we travelled to China for 2 weeks in May to adopt our daughter. Now, every long weekend in May, the group of families we travelled with all gather for a reunion. It's a very special event with about 12 families. It's amazing how spending 2 weeks together in a foreign country and sharing the adoption experience can turn a group of diverse people into an extended family!

Favourite part: near the middle/ end of May, it's warm enough to wear summer clothes.
Least favourite part: wearing summer clothes (maybe some of you can relate- I feel better in winter clothes)

Days where snow doesn't last for 24 hours (it's Alberta, there will still be snow).
I really need to get on the garden!
Flip flop weather :) I like May clothes, not crazy hot, but capris and a t-shirt are comfortable.
And since I'm promoting it anyways, HAE Day.
