I went for a walk and a drive on Saturday - a Thanksgiving ritual - to view the fall colours. For those who can not make it to my beautiful part of the world a few snaps...

Let in through all the trees
Come the strange rays; the forest depths are bright?
Their sunny-coloured foliage, in the breeze,
Twinkles, like beams of light.

Wow! Beautiful, beautiful pictures, LB. Thank you for sharing.
My wife and I went for a short drive to look at autumn leaves today, but obviously we didn't drive far enough.
We did come to a nice pick-your-own apple farm, where we got two nice apples-bags.
Here's a link to the place: http://www.orchalawfarms.com/
While we were there, and just getting off the wagon-ride, we just happened to meet some friends of ours from church. It was a wonderful surprise. I think it was God at work. Imagine, we drove out into the country, and at an apple farm we didn't even know existed met our friends from my small, little church.

Beautiful lb! My husband recently returned from his annual photo sojourn to Algonquin Park - he said that the colours this year are the most vivid he has ever seen. Here in the city, there is only the occasional branch that has yet changed ... although frost is predicted for midweek, so that should spur the colour on. Thanks for your photos!

Thanks for sharing these beautiful, colorful photos with us. It was a very enjoyable slideshow. I love the way you used the leaves as spacers between the shots.

Glad you enjoyed. The leaves here are peaking right now and will probably be past their best by this weekend. There is a stretch on the highway that I really want to get a shot of but it has either been raining or too much traffic - it is right on a very dangerous curve and I have not reached the point that I will sacrifice my life for art - yet ;-)
Although Kay, I did sacrifice quality for art - those leaf transitions are from Corel's video maker and it doesn't produce an HD version for uploading. Sigh, form over function.
What I love about autumn photography is the light and shadow....

It was one of those perfect English autumnal days which occur more frequently in memory than in life. P.D. James

Muskoka. I've lost considerable bandwidth since moving (wish it were pounds), so watching a video isn't a very gratifying experience; but, having seen other ones you've made, I know it's full of your delight and joy in nature.
Beautifully crafted. You let your camera do the talking and that takes a honed sensibility.
Do you wake up every morning amazed and grateful for where you live?
I'd guess you do.

I most certainly do and I go to bed feeling equally lucky

And I'm equally grateful for digital photography because I'd be bankrupted if I had to use film!

These are such gorgeous photos! I really see the beauty of the God-creation in them. If it's okay, I'd love to use one as a computer desktop background.

Thanks for posting that LB. Your pictures are gorgeous.
We were treated to some autumn splendor here when we drove through the Pine Pass in northern BC on the weekend. The trip down was spectacular.
We do live in a fabulous country.

It was nice pommum. We got a new furnace in the camper and we were nice and toasty warm......a little too toasty at times. We had a wonderful visit with a great lady.

Aquilla be my guest.
Northwind a trip through the mountains in the fall must be wonderful. Soeaking of chilly, we had snow on Sunday, not as bad as Timmins, but enough to remind me that winter is not that far off!

Winter seems to be well and truly here. It is -15 north of here, and -5 here. We have a fair amount of snow on the ground. Rumour has it, it will be plus 10 this week. I will believe it when I see it. The Pine Pass is gorgeous. It is also scary, especially this time of year. It gets unbelievable amounts of snow. And there is a lot of wildlife, that while beautiful, has a nasty habit of ending up as hood ornaments if the driver is not careful.

See, it is pictures like that, that make me want to move up north when I am done my student teaching (with my wife and daughter of course). Seriously, I am going to start looking for teaching jobs in nothern Ontario. Slower pace, less busy, more beautiful.
