I think it is just a standard thing that lawyers draft up. I wouldn't think too much about it.

Hey, we are told to spread the Good News. Seems like a broad venue is a good thing.

On the other hand, it would only be common sense to be careful what you say. Posting my words here is a public forum. Having my words reprinted in a magazine seems a little more permanent.
What a lot of people on the Internet don't seem to understand is that ANYTHING you post, even an email can be discovered, discussed, held against you, printed, copied, changed, warped, misrepresented, etc.
Therefore, be careful what you say, where you say it and who you say it to.
Lots of people just say "F*** it" and post it anyway.
Hmmm.... maybe I'd better put some stars it that... my mother may get a copy of this some day.

My old username has been deleted from Wondercafe and no queries have been answered. Have I offended someone?

Ha. I think the worry should be on the host's side. If a user makes a libelous statement, it becomes property of the web site and therefore opens up the site itself to litigation ;)
On a more serious note, this is usual fare. Anything you post online tends to be there for good, "legal" or not.

canadiankid says, "wondercafe is a but"
when he says that does he mean: "wondercafe is a but"
or does he mean: "wondercafe is a butt" or does he mean "wondercafe is a butte" or does he mean "wondercafe is a beaut"? Of course he could mean that "wondercafe is a boot" ... Ah well I guess the point is moot.
