genties & ladlemen,
a heads up for a new book that might be up some of your alleys that is a-comin.
It's going to be called "Stop worrying...there probably is an afterlife" and will be written by the modowner of the daily grail, a site dedicated to model agnostics everywhere.
He's written more than a few books. I'll let him speak for it, just click me for an explanation.
Aaron, UCC might want to check into this -- might be a good interview subject for the Observer?
Berserk, since you seem experienced with the afterlife, you might want to get in contact with Greg, the guy who is writing the book?
as you were, citizens :3

Greg might be interested in the "Breakthrough Exercise," a Yogic meditation exercise by which one can meditate oneself to the threshold of death.
I've done it a few times. Fascinating, but not without dangers. One can end up not near-death but really dead. This exercise is for people who want to seriously explore death, not for triflers or thrill-seekers. Yogis who have tried it are rumoured to have remained in a state of suspended animation for hours and even days.

Talk to him then :3 He's quite approachable -- just visit the thread and start yakkin. Just like here, you have to create a username :3
I find Greg quite approachable -- maybe it's his Aussiehood?

Inanna,
Beware of Aussies - we're very direct about our opinions - but that doesn't mean we're always right!
(BTW, I picked out your response - the "aboot" was a dead giveaway!)
