Hello WonderCafe friends -
I'm trying to get a biweekly or monthly group together to meet for drinks, and discuss all those things that make us *wonder*.
If you are in the Vancouver area and are interested in attending on a regular basis, contact me or comment on this post with the general area you live in (Fraser Valley, Surrey, West Van, etc.), and what day/time period works best for you. I'm currently thinking of an "after church/before dinner" sort of group on Sundays (2pm - 5pm?) or maybe a random evening like Thursdays (7pm-10pm?).
Tell me what you think. This is an open invitation for anyone interested in philosophy, politics, religion, social issues, etc. If you express interest, I will contact you with further details once things are more firmly in place.
Edit: Even you aren't interested, and you are from the Vancouver area, feel free to say so.

go find either Arminius or Lumbylad for some great ideas! They are running Friday nights, but have a great set-up. I suggest looking in Religion & Faith for Arminius - he is pretty easy to come across in those threads. Then just wondermail him.

We here at Lumby United have a bi-weekly wondercafe.live! in our church hall. It is a structured event, runs from 7.00 to 9.00 every first and second Friday night of each month, begins with a presentation by a scheduled presenter of 20 to 40 minutes duration, followed by a question and answer session. Then the audience are invited to step up to the podium to make short comments on the presenter's topic and answer questions from the floor. The evening winds down with on-table discussions, which sometimes drag on until 10.00 p.m.
We are planning on adding a wondersipirt event on alternate Fridays when there is no wondercafe.live!. wonderspirit will just be round table discussions on almost anything, albeit from a spiritual perspective. Once we have wonderspirit in place, there'll be a wonder event each Friday night. Friday night will be wonder night here at Lumby United Church.
