This minute I am listening to CBC news from Victoria, as part of Daybreak North. Pretty soon I will be getting into my car to head down the highway. I might listen to The Current or find something on my iPod. Jury is still out on that one.

Not listening to anything right now other than the sound of wind and light traffic outside my office window. The last song I listened to in the car on the way over here was Face Down by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.

I am listening, not by choice, to the contractor making lots of banging noises in the unit next to mine. I can't put on music or I won't hear Baby Boy of he wakes up as he is upstairs and I'm getting a bit deaf in my 'old age'. (too much Rock n' Roll in my younger days. Alice Cooper in particular.)
He's making a helluva racket over there.

I'm listening to the hum of the office air conditioner and wondering why in the heck it hasn't turned off when it's only 9 degrees and raining outside.

Baudy Folk Song: The Bonny Black Hare.
Oh, I met a young girl there with her face as a rose
And her skin was as fair as the lily that blows
I says "My fair maiden, why mumble you so?
Can you tell me where the bonny black hare do go?"
Oh, the answer she gave me, her answer was "No
But it's under me apron they say it do grow
And if you'll not deceive me I vow and declare
We'll both go together to hunt the bonny black hare"
Well, I laid this girl down with her face to the sky
And I took out my ramrod and my bullets likewise... (A-hem!!)

In my car, I'm currently packing the last three CDs from Coldplay. I am now officially a fan. This is an acoustic version of a song from X&Y that they remade earlier this year (under the title Message 2010) for the Hope for Haiti benefit.

Jae, Funny, I haven't really thought about it much. I just think it's about love. He's enduring the gut wrenches and flutterings, fear and uncertainties and glories of love. Of cource I could be wrong. It's a wonderfully poetic song, that could have other interpretations.

Hm. Well, Elanor, that could be it. As an evangelical, I've always thought of it along those lines. I've liked to imagine that they're actually singing about our need for Heaven. I realize that that probably wasn't the band's actual intent.

She Moved Thro' The Fair, by the Trees
"Last night he came to me
my dead love came in
so sadly he came
that his feet made no din
and he laid his hand on me
and this he did say
oh it will not be long love
til our wedding day"
