Morning glories - so we'll need some fencing or a trellis of some sort for them to climb on.

I like herbs....how about some thyme, sweet basil, oregano, mint and feverfew....

ummmm, I can already tell what the smells are going to be like.

smells . . . that reminds me - we should have some Night Scented Stock (Matthiola) - definitely a favorite.

Peppers.  All kinds of peppers sweet to burning embers.  The salsa is going to be great this year

And as far as vegetables go - how about some sugar snap peas - there's nothing better than going out to the garden and just pulling off a pod and eating it all.

Well. This is going to turn out to be a fine garden indeed.

gecko - herbs are wonderful - how about some rosemary? - they say it is good for the brain.

okay, this gardening stuff is starting to get me really excited - i am limited by weather, size, and other conditions in my real garden, but in a virtual garden, the moon is the limit.  I'll try not to monopolize - hope others join in soon . . . One more quick wish on the list . . . is the garden large enough to house a walking labyrinth, CF?  Perhaps someone could suggest some plants/flowers to line the pathways?

A friend years ago had beautiful flowers that bloomed each summer.  I could never remember the name and asked her what they were 2 years in a row.  Sadly they were "forget me nots"    so I would like to plant some of those.

Oh yes. A walking labyrinth is a great idea. We have acres upon acres of room.

Wow, what a garden. I am glad there will be sunflowers. I have some too.....one can never have too many smiling sunflowers in a garden. I also have fragrant lavendar.

Do you really want an answer to that one?

Lets put some lavendar along the labyrinth path ... it will smell so lovely when we brush up against it.

I'll bring lots of wildflower seeds from my meadow, and a few lilac shrubs, some wild roses ....

And can we plant a couple of extra rows of veggies for the food bank??

Yep. The fountain could go right in the middle of the garden.

Hoo boy!   I was wandering around in the wrong garden until Consuming Fire steered me over here.  Cool garden!

Can I bring a pot of tea, some comfy chairs and some scones into the garden?  Truth be told, I'm not much of a gardener myself (and even if I were, it wouldcertainly not be pumpkins, good grief) but I love to see people puttering away and loving nature.  So I'll pour tea and butter scones for your breaks and chatter away atcha.

You know, I have to say it, these past few days have been filled with learning opportunities for me.  That's not a bad thing.  I suppose you gardeners will understand the need for fertilizer/manure for good growth.  I've been scooping up some fertilizer from some of the other friends and thought I'd dig it deep into  the soil here.  We don't have to look at it, and the smell shouldn't get to us.....but it's still good for growth and strengthening the stems.  It might grow us some patience (not impatients), and thyme for one another.

Thanks so much for bringing the comfy chairs busymom. I am going to sit here in the sun and smell the fragrances of the garden.......(away from the peppers, yuck) and enjoy a cup of tea. I made a pot if anyone would like some. I brought some china mugs, the best of both worlds....china and mugs.

Ah. I love that there is no snow here.

I'll go for Tea, just as soon as I add some nice zucchini and tomato plants to this garden.  And some Salpiglossis and a nice selection on Pansies.  I adore pansies, the old fashioned blue-and-purple ones with the almost black centres.  And since I can't kill one here a nice yellow climbing rose.

Roses - what can I say I am a traditionalist.

I have no luck with roses no matter where I go.  When I was young there was a lady who lived down the path who had the most beautiful rose garden in a Muskoka forest - and for those who have ever tried to grow anything amongst the pines you know that is a feat.  Perhaps it was because I was small but I swear those roses were 5 feet high with blooms as big as my father's hands.

Yes roses, to remind me of a beautiful elderly woman who taught me history, horticulture and Kings in the Corner.

Carolla, I like the idea of sharing of what we reap from our vegetable and herb parts of the garden with a food bank.

Perhaps we could also a fruit bearing tree or two - apple, or crab-apple, or cherry - they are so beautiful when in bloom.

Well. I just got finished spreading the sheep poop, direct from Wales. I thought that we could each take a section of the vast wondergarden and work away at it. I may need help though with the fountain and labrynth.

As we plant may I suggest that we give our plants names?   Names are so important .... names give identity .... at least to me they do.

I have a lovely flower named Love .... actually I have several with that name but each one takes on its own characteristics and expression.    Here are other great names, Compassion, Empathy, Understanding, Listening, Caring, Patience, Nurturing, Healing.

Would others like to add to the list?      I do hope you see the results of my garden in my life.     Someday soon we will talk about weeds.....

I'm big on composting, so will add some compost from my bins.

Also suggest nasturtiums....they are colourful and also edible.  Make nice garnishes on salads, then you can eat them.

Could we set aside a small portion of the garden as a "Prayer Garden" or "Memory Garden"?

I'll work on the back corner and farmboy will be here in a few minutes with the loader...I've selected 4 big prairie rocks that are flat on the top for sitting.  I need a couple extra shovellers to help dig out the firepit **looks pointedly at Trish**

We'll plant a large tree, a lilac and some daylilies and you'll see that if they have some manure every year they develop a solid base that views manure as a natural part of the whole garden and not something to run away from holding your nose!  Don't track it into the house...but watch it firm up some of those blossoms!

Some foxgloves would look awesome amongst Penny's daylilies.... and I just love the sound of a fountain.

Oh yes, we should have some "lilly of the valley" it could boarder around some of the taller plants - fragrant and beautiful little flowers.

Sorry couldn't resist, they are filling my (real life) garden right now and I am thinking of heading out side and tackling them before those lovely white fluffy heads come to be.

This is turning into quite a masterpiece!  I might transplant my wonderful oriental Royal Poppy - it has magnificent large white blooms, with a royal purple centre.  It puts out lots of buds, but I'm growing weary of trying to fight off the local squirrels who consider them to be a delicacy!  Last year two buds finally made it to magnificent maturity!!  Rita - shall we name this one "Tasty"?

We can make some salad with the dandelion greens if they're organic myst!

Some one ought to add some strategically placed benches and paths, this is turning into more of a park than a simple garden.  Yes some nice wrought iron benches would be lovely in here.

I would like to add a small statue of an angel to the memory garden if I may.

I'll bring along a thousand ladybugs!  My "pet" just crawled across my desk again ... she seems to love my desk lamp!  So she reminded me that ladybugs are very important to healthy gardens. 

And let's make sure our garden park is fully accessible to people of all abilities, while we're at it.  I want to make sure specialson & specialmom can visit, and all our other folks with challenges too.

And maybe a beehive ... we'll need bees to pollinate everything, and they will make such delicious and healthy wonderhoney! 

And some lanterns to light the path at dusk.
