I'm not a Christian, either, but am a follower of Jesus within the Judeo-Christian framework. Sometimes, I call myself a "small-u unitarian" (no, I'm not a UU).
My wife was at the UCCAN General Council and brought me back a t-shirt that reads "God" in multicoloured letters, with the Google search bar below it. Sums it up well.
For what it's worth, all religions at their core speak to treating one another justly and lovingly, decry exploitation and oppression. There's a nifty poster showing that the Golden Rule is present in the writings of all religions. That said, people fail their religions, and religions fail their people at times...
Hi there. I have found myself confused a few times in my life, asking Why me? Why now? and have had a hard time finding answers witout being flamed for asking questions. I am no expert, I have not studied theology, but I can help in what ever way my limited knowledge will let me. I have an open mind and enjoy relating my own Catholic journy. I attended catholic school through highschool ( taught by a nun!) , and have a good sense of where I am, and what I believe. A website I have found helpful... although can be flaming at times is http://forums.catholic.com/ . They list common questions on the main page and people discuss. Currently they are discussing the baptisim of babies, the Antichrist, The proposed microchip the Us Government is trying to mandate to name a few. Good luck.
Witch, is that you? I'd like to talk about prayer through many religions and beliefs. It seems they all do IT. What ya think?
hey!
how is everyone doing?
I have a physical illness that, so far, remains a bit of a medical mystery. I am exhibiting man neurological symptoms, primarily poly sensory neuropathy with secondary motor neuropathy. I wonder if anyone here might have ideas for healing that may complement the Western medicine therapeutical interventions and remedies that I am using currently.
I welcome any and all ideas and suggestions.
Hey, what are you looking to discuss? I have studied the bible and read a lot of Christian text and can provide some answers. I won't get offended by any questions because I used to be "Christian" but have since moved away from labeling myself anything because I don't see a purpose in it for myself. Anyway I just like to discuss things so feel free to ask away. Peace.
I haven't got a clue what the simularity between all religions would be. Perhaps, that everyone is searching for a meaning to life and because people are different they find truth (answers, meanings etc) in different explanations that cater to their individual needs.
I am intrigued to know what your answer is... especially after the three exclamation marks at the end, keeping me in suspense.
I am looking for to have some seirous discussions regarding the bible. I am hoping I can find some that are willing to talk without being offended nor simply saying 'Who are we to question God's plans" or the like. Some have even refused to continue to talk with me since some of my questions / topics can seem to be confrontational, which is really not my inetent.
Any suggestions on chat rooms / websites etc etc would be most welcome.
Thank You
As far as I can tell Post-Christianity is niether Christian nor Non-Christian - it is post-Christian! I think I am one of those. So would I fit in?
I say that we should discuss why it seems most people believe or follow something other than themselves? For instance the wican, buddhist, christian, aboriginal, muslim, and the occult and the cults. what is the central theme that links all of these together? can anyone tell me? Cause I have the answer, and you are not gonna believe it!!!
Do you have to be something other than Christian to join? It would be an education for me.
This is a club where people are allowed to walk by, look in the window and read what's being said. But..., if they want to talk they have to join, there's no other way about it, it's on the sign.
Although I just noticed that at the top of the screen it says No Posts In This Group yet it asks you to Post new comment.
George Carlin would have loved this site....
Or you can just go down into the Post New Comment window and try and think of something clever to post which of course doesn't happen because now one is trying to be witty and clever and that never works at all....

It would appear it works sort of like the old WC but with prettier fonts. (Note: I had to copy and paste your words from your post but it appeared at the top of the screen which is easier than the old days, has anyone noticed that in the realm of the Internet, the old days were actually last month)
Or wailing, as the case may be.

Hey can I join this non-Christian but me and my friends believe in God club?
I figure I must be strange enough to warrant some non-Christian but I believe in Christ status.
What was the point of that? Does this mean that we can post underneath the one you "replied" to, cause either way my post is still just up there.....
Hopefully someone else will figure this out lol!
Well I hit "reply" to see what happens.....?!?!

Considering I don't have "one" place, I will join in!!!
Being the hybrid that I am, I think I'd feel quite comfortable here. I've been both wiccan and buddhist on my journey and don't go to church, so I guess this must be the place.
Since the election, I've been thinking I might have to move to Ulukhaktok but maybe being surrounded by you all will give me strength....
Unless McCain gets in at which point I am returning my membership to the human race, moving to a deserted island in the Bikini Atoll where with any luck I will eventually mutate into Godzilla....
