Looks like a lot of work going on to restore the church building - and that is just one of so many. I felt sad looking ata ll the damaged homes. The power of nature - never fails to surprise us.

This video is great Tabitha. Thanks for sharing it.
If I recall correctly the UC had water flowing through the building.
There is still a lot of work to be done in HR - many people are still not back in their homes, and many of those who are do not have a usable basement. A lot of kids are sleeping on the living room floor. The schools are struggling with lack of space as the Seperate School students are sharing the Public School buildings. There are some STRONG people in High River!

Yes Kay-the United Church had sandbagged the doors but the water came up through the floor! Looking at the high water mark-on the sign behind one of the ministers-let me grasp how high the flood was.

This blog shares some of the courage, hope, determination and despair being experienced in High River. It speaks much like my friends who are trying to 'get their lives back' while living in a badly damaged community filled with folks with varying levels of emotional distress.

The blog brought tears to my eyes, Here is a link to a newspaper article too, for those who may be interested. High River is far from recovered and remediated!

Yes lots of work to still do! That camp sounds mixed-nice that meals are made but it's fenced with id tags worn. Can't feel too homey! It must fell like a displaced persons camp.

There's always scammers that use a natural disaster, but taking food?!

It does seem like a pretty dreadful 'crime'. Not the only dreadful crime in High River since the flood, unfortunately. Homes were visited by thieves, and peoples' property put outside to dry was stolen.
