I see the Feds are offering up to $50,000 per project for accessibility. Timeline is tight, so your project better be "shovel ready".

If you do apply make sure you dot all the i's and cross the t's. One of my congregation applied and the whole thing was rejected because one of the reference letters wasn't dated. Of course we heard about this rejection months after it was sent away and a year was delayed in doing the repairs.

Please please please please please:
When applying for grants, or subsidies, or even when hiring a new minister:
Peer review EVERYTHING!!!
Check for spelling errors, format errors. Check 'employment status' or 'retirement status' and make sure that the contact information for everyone is correct, including their availability for the whole time they may need to be 'contacted'...
Sounds basic. It is.

You mean do a proper and complete proof reading and editing. Peer review is something else entirely.
I am aware that the Trillium Foundation in Ontario will offer to go over an application with an applicant to ensure clarity and completeness.
It is also useful to discuss any government grant application with your elected representatives. Government granting (federal and provincial) is a very, very political process. I had a fascinating conversation about exactly that with our MPP yesterday.

Proof reading, peer reviewing, going over it with the funding officers (Trillium is really good about this)...it's all good and it's all worth while.

we were going to upgrade our sound system to better serve those with difficulty hearing-looks like this might give us some $ towards that.
