If funds were available, what might you do (that you're not doing now) that would "grow disciples"?

This question came up in a recent discussion - just wondering ... what might your church do - "if funds were available" - and how much 'funds' would you need?   Anybody been giving this some thought?

Great idea Alex.   Then if improvements were made, would you somehow publicize that?

Yes I would list on your web site, which barriers you have removed, or have ways of bypassing. An audit would also identify which barriers you have already overcome. An audit might inform you that you already have removed or overcome certain barriers.

I would then list my church on related websites and social service agency.

Wheelchair accessible places are often listed on a central list in each area. If you already have kids with learning difficulties, and have ways of dealing with it in Sunday School, than I would list yourself with agencies, and on web lists.

If your church accepts LGBT I would list that on web sites for the LGBT community.

etc, etc.

mid week informal worship service.  ..Not limit or pigeon hole it as 'contemporary' or 'youth worship service'  all would be welcomed, we'd sing some planned songs/hymns and some requests.  We'd discuss a theological/spiritual book or video and draw from all people's expressions of worship.  Something simple like having Scripture read 3 times, each by a diff. person in a diff part of room is impactful.  Or bringing movement into worship and prayer....kinda like yoga.

I love our traditional SUnday services (incidentally we often mix up these services) but I am in Church school for most of it.

Adequate staffing to maintain the programs and outreach that we now have and to look for more (or other) ways to reach out to the people in our city.

(We are already wheelchair accessible, we have a good sound system, a person proficient in sign language, large print bulletins.)

I'd hire a staff person to do the leadership development for small groups, and then be responsible for overseeing their health.

I'd actually put into effect the adversing campaign I put together, to help people to know what St.A'h is all about.

I'd find a way of funding every person in the congregation - either as an individual or in small group - of intentionally living their ministry by sharing their gifts and abilities with a group outside of the congregation.

A congregational course into Catholism. According to a survey in Germany millions are considering leaving the church.

Most will likely leave religion altogether. However some might look at protestant churches as an alternative.

How would we include these Catholics? What could we do to make them feel safe, and welcomed.

Also i often run across people from conservative protestant churches, coming to my church. We could also use education on how to best explain our theology to people coming from different Christian theological backgrounds.

Sunday Services do not do this. New people do not get "it" often.

RichardBott - I particularly like your idea of hiring someone to develop & support leadership - we recognize that need, but it's difficult to address in many current church structures and not doing so limits us I think ...

I also like the notion of being able to financially support people to do some of the things they have a passion or gifts for - and doing so in the wider community.
