a friend of mine posted this story on facebook and i thought i would share it just to change up the boards and add a new discussion. this story is not a big surprise, and i know there are alot of people who frequent this forum that will be saying "and this is news because?!?", but i feel it further adds to your point(s). the media is well known for fabricating the truth but when it's this blatent, why aren't more people worried? should the media be held responsible for their actions and misinformation? it's times like this that further my support for freedom of speech (the good, the bad and the ugly) and as silly and pointless as some of the wikileaks stuff is, i'm glad that there are those who are making george orwell proud. those who are willing to expose the truth and make people accountable.

I saw this on CNN last night, on AC360. I wondered why he did not hit the men he aimed for. So, how is this a cover-up and how was it revealed?

if you watch the two stories, the one on mscbc reports the gunman turns the gun on himself and cuts the video at the right time to make it appear that way. the story from liveleak allows the video to run fully and the men talk about the fact that the gun had blanks in it. not really a cover-up, imo, but fabrication at its finest. i haven't watched the cnn footage. maybe i will to compare.

Believe it or not........
That pistol was loaded with blanks. You could see the wadding hit the table causing the papers to fly up.
If you hold that gun to your temple, the wadding would enter your brain and kill you.

thanks for your input judd. i am going to rewatch the video. i was under the impression that he was killed by security, not himself.

I rewatched the video on TV tonight. After the gunman fell down, he fired 4 shots while on his back before turning the pistol on himself. A distinct recoil was visible indicating that, in fact it was a small calibre (.22) semiautomatic pistol firing real ammunition. Even blanks have minimal recoil. This was unmistakable and couldn't be faked.
It does confirm my assertion on another discussion that pistols are extremely inaccurate, unreliable and dangerous.

I know their inaccuracy and unreliability well from personal experience. They also require extreme care in handling because they change target with only slight movement. Once, In a shooting range, I paused before the tenth shot, lowering the pistol to my side. Unthinkingly, I slighted shifted by hand position. The bullet hit the concrete and inch from my foot. Luckily, the ricochet hit nobody.
For a time a had a small Beretta which a short barrel. It was very difficult to hit a tin can even at close range. (I was not a great shot. But I could consistently hit a dime with a rifle at a hundred feet.)
The mechanisms are also extremely vulnerabe to dirt..
