Digestive Enzymes

Anyone take them?  Why?  What kind?  What do you think they do for you?

Anyone take them and found they didn't help or caused a different set of problems?

My answer is the same as before:

I also use probiotics when eating a food I have intolerance to in hopes that the bacteria (and their enzymes) will break it down.  I was actually surprised how well that worked!

Hopefully you'll get some new answers.

I have lost about half of my liver function due to Hep C. Because the liver produces enzymes, I boost my enzyme intake by eating lots of raw fruit, sometimes with yogurt, and raw vegetables whenever I can. I haven't tried probiotics yet, but may give it a try.

Seeds produce enzymes during sprouting. I am eating sprouted wheat bread, but most of the enzymes may have been killed during baking. We used to sprout wheat, alfalfa, and other seeds, but no longer do.

When I sprouted wheat, I ground up the sprouts in the blender and made the mash into pancakes. The sprouting process not only produces enzymes but makes the wheat sprouts naturally sweet, and the pancakes are delicious! Nothing needs to be added when frying them except fat. I baked them lightly on both sides in sunflower oil, but coconut oil might be better. Wheat sprouts can also be eaten raw. They are a bit chewy but taste good.

Pancakes made from sprouted wheat are also known as "Essene Cakes". The Essenes sprouted wheat, pounded the sprouts into a mash, and baked the cakes on hot rocks in the desert sun. Maybe Jesus ate such cakes? The recipe is mentioned in the Aramaic Gospel of John, also known as the Essene Gospel of Christ. It used to be the Gospel of the Nestorian Christians, and was translated from Old Slavonic into English by Edmond Bordeaux Szkely.
