I've been looking a bit into medications to treat a condition I might have. There aren't many.
I've learned there is a shortage of one, is not available in the province and it's estimated it won't be until the summer. This isn't to prevent something as minor as a rash, it's to prevent a reaction that has a high potential to be life-threatening.
Are drug shortages like this common? It's not that often that I hear about them, and I pay attention to medical news.

I recall hearing about some that occured within the past year. It wasn't to this degree though, and they were still attainable from what I remember.

I am sure that I have never heard of anything taking that long. I have had to wait a month or so when my pharmacy was out of stock, but it seems probable that I could have picked it up elsewhere.

Thanks Hilary. I got the information from the AHS site. I'm surprised it hasn't been publicized.

I'm a bit disappointed. CP cutting service gets tons of attention because it might have indirect health consequences. Something like this that is directly life saving is ignored.
