MadMonk is someone that many of us have gone to the mountain with, he has given us humour and also thought provoking moments.
On Thursday, the 10th, his family was graced with a wonderful new baby boy...a little brother to his daughter.
This wee one is a strong guy; however, has some disconcerting breathing problems and so is in NICU.

I have MadMonks permission to invite you to pray for all those wee ones in NICU....from the short-term monitoring to the very ill, little ones.
We are reminded of the doctors , nurses, chaplains, social workers who give their gifts and talents to these wee ones and their families.

I am remembering my days as an OT in NICU and praying for thoughtful staf that can spend time with families and explain what is happenning, for bonding moments of babes and families, for faith in God in the quiet moments.
I pray for the wee ones andfamilies and staff.

For Madmonk and all the others who sit beside the incubators or worry at home about the most fragile in our world, I offer prayers and concern.

My thoughts are with madmonk's family and with the many families going through the experience of having a child in NICU or receiving care for a life-threatening condition.
Because my company is in home oxygen and has respiratory therapists on staff, we care for some of these kids when they go home. One former child patient, who is now a preschooler and fairly healthy, came to our 30th anniversary dinner a couple weeks ago and his mother addressed the gathering. I always find it both heartbreaking and heartening to go into our offices and see pictures of babies and young children that they are caring for. It also make me aware of how lucky we are that Little Mendalla is, and always has been, quite healthy.

Thanks everyone for your support of those who live in that time of fear, coping with hormones, lack of sleep, and stresses from the unknown.

Yes, prayers for them all. I learned something by volunteering at the hospital, in peds. I had known, in my head, that I was very fortunate to have had healthy strong babies. But working among kids with cancer etc. deepened my awareness and increased my gratitude immensely. Such huge paina nd worry I had been spared! A healthy baby is a miracle. The love of God reaching out to all those who are not well, is a miracle. May it feel like one to Monk & family.

Saying a prayer right now for MadMonk, his family, and this precious newest addition to his family . . . may they feel tenderly, graciously, and lovingly held in the center of God's love. And praying this also for all the other wee ones sharing the NICU space. Praying that those whose care they are in are enabled, empowered, and provided with all they need for their unique and special care giving.

thanks for the update Pinga.
I hope that the baby is doing well, 3 or 4 days old now I guess. Do you have an update?
In NICU there are so many heartbreaking stories but also so many heartwarming ones.

My prayers go out for the continued health of MadMonk's baby and his family at such a wonderful and emotional time - and remembering Liam's first 3 weeks of life in the NICU, continue to pray for those who both serve, and are served in those frightening, busy, but gentle and loving halls.

Olivet_Sarah, good to see you here, I don't think we have been in the same thread lately.
May we continue to offer our thanks for those who care for the wee ones.
I am thinking particularly of those in the stricken area of Japn where medical systems will be stressed, or those who went into labour during that time.
