1 in a million

Last week I went to lunch with my oldest sister Aj. We went to the Russian Tea Room where my favorite psychic Darryl reads palms and tarot cards. I turned 22 at the end of August and I was curious to know how where my life path was directed, now that I am clean & sober. He said that I am on a very spiritual path. In the past I may have been afraid of my talents because of the great responsibility they would place on me, but now I am more prepared to accept them. My intuition is a bit keener than usual. My dreams are very vivid. He said I can have a very positive spiritual effect on others. I am also empathic and sensitive to other's energies. He said I have a gift for tolerating all sorts of people and being non judgemental (and that is a gift). I am curious to know other people's experience with healing abilities or psychic readings. Was it the real deal or a total sham? Do you possess any gifts?

I don't want to put a wet blanket on it but strictly speaking I don't believe in  physics, tarot cards, etc. At their worst I think it can get into demons and such. I think most of the time it's just an intuitive person (think Dear Abby) trying to make a living, and I'll assume that was the case this time. What was said could well be right, but it would be right because a perseptive "people person" picked it up from you mannerisms, the way you conduct yourself, the way you talked, etc. rather than the cards themselves. From what I've gleaned from your posts here I think it's actually a pretty apt description of you. I'm inclined to agree with that assessment, but for different reasons. Regardless I wish you well on your spiritual journey. GOD bless.

Btw. I do believe you are one in a million, a beloved child of GOD.

my sister in law gave me a set of tarot cards for christmas one year, and every so often i'll do a card spread that just feels electric... its not all the time, to be sure.

the one i recall the most was this one i did for my brother... he was coming out of a very bad relationship, and truth be told i'd say that when the cards revealed that he was an abusive partner, i didn't doubt it at all.  the path that the cards set forth for him in terms of learning, understanding and healing was brilliant.

All tests are designed with the applicant-participation-and-approval. In most cases, the applicant will be asked to perform a relatively simple preliminary claim-test, which if successful, will be followed by the formal test.

To date, no one has passed the preliminary tests.

I think what Daryl said to you on your birthday was very positive stuff, though empathic (as Jon described), not psychic. I tend not to believe in psychic ability, largely because I believe either in multiple futures where every posibility actually happens, or that the future is not written in stone and therefore cannot be forseen. However I still remain open to the posibility that strange foresights may occasionaly happen due to some unexplained, unknown phenomena such as time loops, or the theory that everything actually happens all at once. Still, if you think about it, if time were looped or reversed, how could we possibly "remember" what happened in forward time? Because our minds would be rewound too...

Everyone can have positive spiritual effects on others, especially if we are smart, sensitive and kind people. I wish you such a future. Life's what you make it.

What about intuition and prophetic dreams? If you don't believe in psychics, then what about believing in your own abilities as a spiritual human being?

I have had several dreams that have come true. They were warning dreams that If I did not change my self-destructive path, they threatened to come true and some of them did.

What about Deja Vu? In my culture various things are good omens such as a deja vu. It means your spirit has been in the same time & place before and you are following the right path. At 7 1/2 months sober, my awareness is ever increasing and my ego is slowly dissipating.

There is a natural balance to everything. There is good and evil to every side of the natural world. Evil feeds off fear. Awareness sheds light on the dark corners of the unknown. I welcome the light and fear nothing.

I don't know about prophetic gifts...although I WAS at the right location to capture the HQ in call of duty: world at war today... it was kinda creepy.

Deja Vu...that creeps me out because it happens to me sometimes ><

I remember a quote from Wayne Gretzky saying he didn't go to where the puck was, he went to where it was going to be. People can sort of see where things are heading in life too. We know what has happened, we know what is happening, and to a degree we can see where it will go. Think of doctors prognisticating an injury or illness. Think of weather forecasters. Think of politicial scientists using a combination of polling data, historical voting trends and other factors to determine the outcome of an election. I followed the last one super close and a lot goes into it. People can do that too. I don't question that you've had dreams come true, but I'm typically inclined to find a more rational explanation. I say typically because I do believe that GOD can flat out show someone the future in a true prophetic dream like Daniel, or Joseph or others in the Bible. It's possible GOD still does that from time to time but it isn't the answer I most often look for. If.I.were.a.boy, you are an intelligent young woman. You knew the events of your life to that point and their consequences. It's not hard to believe that both awake and asleep you could see where things were headed. Give the credit to your own intelligence and self-awareness.

I also wanna say, congratulations for finding the path to health, If-I-were-a-boy. I know how wonderful it is as I was a teen alchy myself. And I'm also a spiritual person. There is beauty and wonder in everything, light and dark, you are right.

I don't know how deja-vu works. I like it when it happens to me as I also feel like I must be on the right path and I wonder if time does go in big loops. I find myself trying to remember what I might have needed to learn last time to do it right this time...

I don't know how intuition works, like in the case of feeling that a danger was about to come speeding around that bend and that kid needs to be grabbed from the street. Maybe we do have a sort of 6th sence to a certain degree, based on information sources we haven't yet catalogued or don't yet realize we have, like even hightened sence of awareness. Like how time seems to slow down when you're falling, you've got all this time to think about the position of your hands and the angle of your fall, and say a little curse to yourself that it happened.

Then there's cases where twins several time zones apart know what's about to happen to the other or feel something on themselves that has happened to the other. I personally would like to know how that works.

Prophetic dreams, how you described them I also feel that we can see things coming from the cource events have allready taken, and in your case your body was warning you. I had dreams like that too. I've never had a dream about a plane crash that was about to happen or anything like that though. But I've heard it's happened.

Maybe there's a group or organization for psychics, where you can find out about them, meet them, hear their stories and decide what you think. The most certainly should be a book.
