On March 12, 1989, Tim Berners-Lee (later knighted so now known as Sir Tim...) published the first document describing HTML (the language used to format web pages) and HTTP (the computer protocol that allows web browsers to retrieve web pages). So, that means the Web (or at least its core technologies) turns 25 today. Without Sir Tim's work, we would not have Google, Netflix, Facebook or, of course, Wondercafe. Last year marked the 20th anniversary of the first webpage so it did take a while for the idea to catch on and be implemented but since then, the Web has never looked back.
Let's a raise a glass to Sir Tim and his invention!!!
