Disney is honouring Star Wars Day by releasing the first full trailer for Star Wars: Rebels, the new Star Wars TV series. Has a lot of the same production crew as Star Wars : Clone Wars (which is a good thing), but looks like the tone will be more classic Star Wars. As good as Clone Wars is, it often veers off into rather dark territory or into being more of an s-f military drama.

Last week we stumbled across the documentary "Star Warriors" - fantastic! Made in 2007 - 200 members from the 501st Legion around the world were selected to march in the Rose Bowl Parade with George Lucas and the Lucasfilm float. Amazing to see all these folks who create their own costumes come together - work with US military drill sargeants for a week to learn to march - and then be in the parade. Experience of a lifetime for most of them! Great movie.

The 501st has pretty much taken on a life of its own now. They are even canonized in the movies as Darth Vader's personal regiment (the clone troopers who attack the Jedi Temple with Anakin in Revenge of the Sith were actually played by a group of 501st members).

that's cool Mendalla! It was interesting to see in the doc how they all made their own costumes - lots of different methods, but identical results!
