So I watched another movie called A Simple Plan last night.
This was a good movie. It started out with 2 brothers and a friend who found 4 million dollars. They were tempted like we all would be to keep it. Overnight everything changed for them. They were going to keep it until they knew nobody would be looking for it. If someone would look for it they would burn it.
They had to kill om guy who saw them put $500,000 back. Then they dumped his body with a snowmobile over a bridge. Then the one guy could not handle the secret so he told the third guy who started threatening the first that he would tell the sherrif unless he got some of his money early. SO then the two brothers/friends decided to get him drunk and got his taped confession that he killed this guy.
When the guy found out what they did he was going to shoot them. The guy's brother ran out to get his shotgun and came in and shot the guy before he shot the brother. The common law wife of the guy was going to shoot them both so they shot her and phoned the police.
The brother began drinking heavily because he felt that he was evil. Then a fake FBI agent came to town looking for a downed plane with 4 million. He got the brothers to help him look and shot the sherrif. Again the brother shot him because he was going to shoot. The brother said too many people had died and he could not sit and guard this secret anymore. The money meant too much to the other brother so he got his brother to shoot him and make it look like the bad guy did it. At the FBI meeting the last guy left found out that they wrote the serial numbers of the bills down so as soon as he started using the money he would be traced. He burned the money that day and then there was a narration at the end about how he and his wife had to live with themsleves.

So one lie covers up the next until you are living a in cesspool of lies and can't talk to anyone.
Or is it the money that destroyed the family/friendships?
What do you guys think? Oh and if you found 4 million dollars would you turn it in to authorities?

What are the legal consequences for someone who finds a lot of money and doesn't turn it in? Would it be considered grand theft?
Maybe if there is a reward then it would be worth it to turn it in and have the peace of mind that nobody is out to get you. If it belongs to a big corporation maybe they deserve to get ripped off.
If the serial # on the paper money is registered at all financial institutions then the only places you could spend it would be at stores and paying cash for large purchases would arouse suspicion.
It's interesting to contemplate what I would do with millions of dollars.
I have to admit that this is not my kind of movie because of all the people being mean to each other and killing each other.

What the problem was................... that a bunch of retards found the money................................. if smart people had found it things would be different but there would be no movie ............. if i found 4 mil i'd find a way to launder it and spend it wisely ..... have you seen

I once found a stolen bike and turned it in and after three month and nobody claiming it, I got to keep it. Surely, you might have to wait a bit longer for four mio, but that could be worth it. Definitely less trouble than killing someone over it.

They were so worried that they were going to get caught they kept making mistakes. The police were very hick and not questioning why these two guys were always around when people were dying.
