One missing argument for the pro-gay side is -- What God has blessed, no man should call evil. We can only know that God has blessed a union when we see the fruit of the Spirit in it. The same is true of heterosexual marriages.
Salut Patrick.

I can't say that accurately resembles a debate I have had on the issue.

wow, i like that...at least in quick glance...thanks!
then, again, to respect all who come to this site...it only mirrors some of the conversations here, and I would suggest is not a fair representation of all sides of the arguments.

"What's "Non Sequitur" mean? Do I look it up in a Fag-To-English Dictionary?" lol, really? ...really? ...like, seriously? HAHAHA!!!

Freundly, a non sequitur is a response - or argument if you will - that bears no relevance or relation to the topic at hand. It is an illogical reply to a question or statement.
An example I was given many years ago was: A person is applying for a job and when asked why they want the job, the person says "I have five children". There is no logic to that answer, having or not having children has no bearing on the situation, one could just as easily say "I have a cat"
The arguments against same sex marriage are almost always non sequiturs - there is no logic and they do not relate to situation. The best response to a non sequitur is "So what"

At least there was some logic beneath the answer. I need the job to support five children.
I have a 15 and a 22 year old living at home and I know all about Non Sequitur. They can see three steps ahead of my argument and boy when you get close, do they ever go off on a tangent.
Perhaps this chart shows just little ammunition there really is in the no same gender, etc., etc. camp. Maybe we are getting closer to "get over it finally, please."

Don't worry LB, I caught that. Just take a look at the bottom left hand corner of the chart, it's really little.

I'm very curious as to who would fit into the "Null Set"? A Playboy Bunny/Nobel Laureate?
I refuse to speculate where I would fit. I firmly trust in my wife's inability to recognize ugly when she sees it.

Just a question about the thread title.
When did the issue become "gay" marriage? I thought the hot topic was same-sex marriage.
They're really not necessarily one and the same thing. Strictly speaking. Really.

Where did you get that chart, blackbelt?
Jae, I think in this case Patrick_qc was assuming the terms could be used interchangeably, and I didn't even notice he was using two different terms, though I'll concede they are somewhat different. We can quibble about definitions if we want, but I don't think I'll join that discussion.
I think Patrick's first language is French, so let's cut him some slack if he doesn't catch all the nuances of English.

In Leviticus there are some 612 rules and regs. On what basis does one decide the one on a man laying with a man is to be followed but feels that the eating of shell fish or the wearing of multifibered clothing and all the rest do not have to be followed?
