I think the event looks like one not to miss. Unfortunately, Toronto's a long way from home!
With the world economies in a mess, people in general must be beginning to doubt consumerism as a way to happiness. As the guy in "American Beauty" said, "It's all just stuff."
My faith has contributed to my life satisfaction, and I can only wish the same for others.

Um, wtf? Way out of line, spock. Especially as a new comer. We have often used this forum to let others know of events going on that we think are interesting. Often, those initial posts lead to lots of dialogue, particularly if some people are able to go to the event.

Actually sprokis53, it was posted as information sharing, not "blatant advertising". Unfortunate that the distinction evaded you, perhaps as a newcomer to Wondercafe. I have no vested interest in whether people attend or not.
Would you see postings here about various books also falling into the category of "blatant advertising"?
At church yesterday I met a visiting minister who's going to that event ... we had some interesting discussion about the speaker .... and I'm thinking there may be some of that here once the event occurs.
