Panhandlers

This year my wife and I dressed up to go to her Christmas office party which was being held at a prestigous club downtown.  She wore an understated elegant black outfit and wore my black tux with a festive vest and red bowtie,  We were dressed to the nines.  My wife was sprting her pearls and a lot of gold and I was wearing my goldwatch and diamond and saphire rings. After a tremendous meal of rare roast beef, smoked salmon, shrimp, baked ptatoes and salads we listened to the piano player a while and then headed home.

Out on the street on our way to our car, we were accosted by a middle aged wmen who admitted "I had neve had to anything like this before but could I give money her enough money for bus fare?"  Since I neve take the bus I asked how much was bus fare so she could get home..  She said she wasn't sure but tought it might be $3.50   My wife asked her where she lived and it turned out she was trying to get to a place just a few blocks north of were we lived so I asked my wfe if we should just give her a ride.

My wife didn't like tha idea tha much so I pulled out my wallet and gave the woman $5.00 which she quickly grabbed and hurried off wishing us a Merry Christmas over her shoulder as she left.

My wife speclated that the wman was just a street person hustling enough money so she could buy drink or drugs.  I thought the woman might be the Divine Mother in disguise testing me because I had recently been praying to Her to let me win the lottery.

I remember and old Greek fable or story about Zeus wandering the countryside with one of his God cmpaions and stopping on a hot day at the hut of a poor old man and his wife.  They gave Zeus some refreshing cold goat's milk and cheese.  After Zeus had finished lunch and left the old peasants were surprised to find that their pitcher in which they had served the goat's milk in had suddenly become an endless fountain of cold goat's milk.

I haven't checked my lottery tickets yet.

I think we'd all be surprised of how we are tested in life Poguru. Didn't King Lear also dressed up a commoner and walk the country side?

If you can handle Pan (who was once considered satire/satyr) perhaps you could deal with the confrontation of such knowledge and wisdom and not disbelieve unbelievable things like, society has do to that lady, what has benefited you!

And those that have will have more because those that have corporeally don't share much. There are however exceptions to that rule too like holes in the temple veil or the pall in Rome about a God living there ... such things are disbelievable!

Gods are out there somewhere as fabrications .... like lost sol's if you can find a fete to fit it! Sort of reminds me of a myth ... fair Rae tale? Remeber here you cannot tell gospel truths ... things common people are not supposed to know---church law! It is fundamental as hieros gammos .... but then church people are generally not familiar with that ... and don't desire to be ... the way it is in the land where truth isn't ...

But don't lie when a gutte's torah will do ... related to Taurus and thus the BS factor!

You were praying to win the lottery?  That's a joke, right?

If its for real what did you plan to do with the winnings?  You gave the money because you believed it might be the  Divine Mother  and not for any other reason?

Are you running a temperature..........?....this really doesn't sound like yourself at all.....!!!!!

(Or is this  just a story you invented to garner the responses? )

So Pogoru, what if we give and we receive nothing? Should we continue giving? Is giving about "what's in it for me?" or should we give selflessly with no expectations in return? If there is a reward, shouldn't it just be that we feel good about helping someone that will never repay us?

That woman who recieved the money may have squandered it, or she could have shared it, or she could have lost it on her way home. Who knows what anyone will do with a gift that was bestowed on them, but still many will invest in the gifts to at least give a choice that was never there before.

When giving don't let your right hand know what your left hand is doing.

Once given forget about it.  The idea is to not form any attachments.

Last night, in the cold as we approached the movie theatre, I noticed a man standing and something wrapped in blankets beside him.  I was kinda wondering and looking what was that, when my oldest son had already realized. The many was standing and had his dog all wrapped up in a blanket to keep warm.

Before he could get the words fully out to ask for money, and before I could say anything, my oldest son headed over with a kind word and a gift of cash.   Made my heart break a bit.

"Don't let the left and the right hand know what's going on" ... so they can remain stupid to their whole opposing world! Isn't that a great metaphor for the two halves of the brain ... one absolutely stuck and the other half free (abstract) and out there and disconnected according to the rules against String Theory ... or sewing up enigmas!

It is an idealism we cling to so wisdom won't affect us as declared by Proverbs 1:8. Now the understanding of fools depends on which side of that thin red line you rest upon ... such is life among those separated from the medium ... and thus can't digest either side little more than both sides in stereoscopic (dual) vision that adds depth to the flat-out in either direction where Moses stretched out his hands to see what was out there. Good move for a blind and previously unfeeling organism ... to gain respect for the emotions that is; when intelligence "is not" a concern!

If separated from wisdom for a bit, would you begin to miss IT?

I could say this differently, but I can't; if you told a gospel truth as tried and tested (biblical fashion) in a world dedicated to unknowing ... you'd be called crazy. Look what they did to John Nash over Game Theory ... he was impounded for 20 years before receiving the Noble Prize, is that chimerii, beautiful, or what? Could that cause a rattle in the Comfortable Pews? A tolerable essense ... what a stinker ...
