A quote. A quiz. An idea to ponder

Who wrote the following? (I f you know just give the initials, so I'll know who you are)

"With the virtue of memory and the passage of time, a thing can become more than itself, hence progress is possible,"

I've been thinking about that for a long time. With neurology honing in on the function of conjectured nano-tubes operating within the neurons in your think-box, we might yet be soon able to understand just what consciousness IS. It's thought that the main purposr of memory is to enable predictions.

Any thoughts?

Of course more thoughts.  I is a factory of such :3

I'll just hook up my little mind-reading machine to make things easier.

(it looks like the 'mind is brain' people were right?)

Neuroscientists unlock shared brain code between people.

Joss Whedon, prophet?

(and yep, it seems like room-temperature entanglement -- ie in living systems -- does happen)

Another view into the now

Here's one satisfied customer of the treatment

You can count on Inanna to have thoughts (and even video clips) at the ready!   I will think some more....

I remember an episode of the tv series Max Headroom where there was a business where people got paid for their dreams to be recorded. They'd then sell these recordings. I thought that was a pretty nifty idea. Funny thing, art & life.

I'm imagining that this would make a really nifty GUI. Imagine putting this in your home so that, no matter where you are, you can call up a phone, a tv show, a movie, a program, run a simulation?

And here's a mind-machine interface so that you can control your robot.

Now watch this, because it is one thing me telling you that we have robots that can learn and play ball, it is another thing to see it. I'm thinking of just hook a camera on one of these and use the machine-mind interface from the above and I can realize my dream of flying...:3  These robots aren't being remotely controlled, they are playing ball on their own.

What? Thoughts on thought?

I think thinking is thought to be overrated.wink

Seriously, I think our thoughts are arbitrary creations. Or, to put it differently, our world of concepts is a subjective re-creation of the world we objectively experience. The objective experience of reality is absolutely true, but our subjectification or conceptualization of the objective reality is an arbitrary creation which changes all the time.

The wondrous thing about this creative thought process is that our conceptualization of  objective reality changes not only our conceptual or subjective reality but also our objective reality. With our power of thinking we change not only our thoughts but the world.

Actually, the objective and subjective reality enhance and enrich each other. With our creative thinking we enrich our subjective reality, which makes for a richer objective reality, which in turn enriches our experience and our thoughts about what we experience. With our power of creative thinking we can create an ever brighter and better world.

Speaking of dreams, I had an angel dream the other morning:

I was working for a logging outfit. We had to get up at four in the morning and drive through pouring rain and knee deep mud to the logging site.

At the logging site I walked higher and higher, and eventually got out of the rain and came to a vertical bluff, where the sun shone brightly and everything was beautiful. At the edge of the bluff stood a man with red hair and blue eyes and asked me, "Do you know who I am?"

"Yes, you are an angel," I answered without any hesitation.

"You too are an angel," he said. "Close your eyes and let yourself fall backward over the cliff."

I did as he said, and floated weightlessly in the air. When I opened my eyes I was lying in bed, feeling weightless and very good. The great feeling lasted all day.

It's sort of like aD oeM living on the fringe of At'm ... wall effect ... the closer you get tuit the greater the dissonace causing bounce ... for mortals didn't wish to goth Eire ...

Thus recreation of the At-Œm with 1/10 to the 15th power empty space to hide thoughts ... an internal subjugation of the objective image ... through the Ais of Ka Mael ... sort of Ka mêrè on the impossible!

All you hear is the eko of feint h'm, buddhist calloem ... dirt onall that is divergent as dispersed .. emerging from a point of thought? The mind is indeed a small thing in a world of grand asperations (wishes, desires, wants ... without need)! Difficult thing to fathom ...without depth ...
