Maybe its a bit early to start thinking about it, but would it be interesting to recall and perhaps revisit some of our favourite threads over the years - ones that you remember best, learned from, found amusing, or heartbreaking, supportive, encouraging, or whatever.

Well . . . I think there would be a few who would agree with me . . . The LAST POST thread of course! While there has been a lot of LAST posting only, there have also been times of sharing and caring and learning and growing, and of course laughing :).

I wonder if folks would mind finding links to their post (or others posts).
I would think it would be a good area of the new site. Posts with links to favourite posts from the original wondercafe, complete with keywords.
So, if you are digging into the history now in celebration, considering copying and pasting the url for the thread here as well.

Egads, that's a rather narrow selection. Think highly of myself much?
I guess since you asked for "my" favourites it isn't out of bounds for me to be front and centre. Just like it wouldn't be out of bounds for your favourites to feature you prominently.
Anyway.
I include the next one because the content is much more important than the pretext which inspiried it.

It makes me wonder if there are other events in the life of our community that would benefit from seeing the light of day now, so to speak.

One of the marks of authentic community is shared memory.
I will not single out any thread but will comment on the many conversations I have had with "revjohn". We quarreled in our seminary years, our "United Online" years and here in the Cafe. He is quick to catch the inconsistency in my thought and ready to spell it out. I remember once suggesting he had the skill of a butcher, with sharp clean incision separating meat from bone. I have been much improved by the encounter.
Now the pump is primed and other names begin to rise. I will take just one more moment to appreciate Crazyheart for the endless stream of, well, crazy hearts.

Geo, you talk about RevJohn, and I agree.
There was one thread that is short and sweet, where revJohn responded with clear message which assisted me in understanding folks in my life.

I miss Panentheism's teachings. So many times I would read and re-read his responses, and his patient attempts to answer questions.
I have just re-read this thread tonight, which touches on that annoying buzz you have when you read something that just doesn't feel right. It isn't the best example, but is one of those where huge amounts of information are presented and shared in a way that is just a gift. At a time when I was starving for theology, time & time again Pan fed me, without to my recollection ever swatting me away as an annoying fly.
