I spent a morning with my camera and discovered the beauty in the small.
Enjoy!
This little fellow was about the size of my thumbnail.

So pretty, lb. I enjoy sitting in the big garden watching the canopy for birds and breezes...but LOVE to sit still and watch teeny bugs and pull teensy weensy weeds.

Some welcome visitors at my place - Monarch butterflies. A patch of milkweek at the bottom of my lane has attracted these visitors. Pretty elusive so far for photos....will keep trying.

Amazing photos! You are a talented photographer. And a special soul to capture the beauty of small things. They are all around us and really fascinating when we stop to appreciate them.
We all love watching my mom's Evening Primrose bloom. What an amazing sight to watch a flower go from bud to fully opened in about 20 seconds. Absolutely gorgeous!
I also watched a spider spin a web one day.....wonderful sight to see.
Small things count!

Thank you everyone for kind words and indulgence for my whimsy
I find tremendous peace in micro photography. Beyond the sheer miniature beauty one discovers, it demands attention to the oft overlooked. It requires focus - and thankfully I rediscovered my auto focus yesterday, something that is of great aid to the aging photographer. It often grants a wonderful gift of surprise because the eye doesn't see what the camera captures. And as the following pictures are an example, it forces patience to wait for that small perfect moment in time.
So its bugs you like....

And to wrap it up with a bow, my gift to you.
The Peace of Wild Things
When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children's lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.
— Wendell Berry
I'm feeling much better now!

Beautiful lb - "the peace of wild things" - thank you for that moment of reflection and quiet.
You are a very talented woman IMO. Excellence in photography is more about the mastery of the art of seeing, than in the technical bits (although it does help to know the tech bits!). You see much.

Thank you LB. Words cannot express what that beauty means to me. You are so fortunate to be able to see the beauty in small things, and to have the will, and the skill and ability to find a way to share it with others.
