Well, things seem to be coming up Somegirl lately. My car insurance went down by a bunch, and my husband got an unexpected raise. It might be humanly possible that the bank has finally sorted out the problem with my student loan that I have been trying to deal with since last July (still got my fingers crossed on that one). My kid is away for the weekend. The weather is beautiful and I'm going for a walk on my two strong, mostly healthy legs.
So if any of you have something to celebrate, celebrate here.

First, I'll join you in your happy dance Somegirl.
I got my tax return yesterday and it is a very nice (and much needed) chunk of change!

Good for you somegirl! Thanks for sharing some happy news!
Tax returns are always good Namaste!
I am celebrating daffodils today. The sun was shining and the temperature was warm in busyville. The grass is starting to look green and buds are starting to form on the trees. Celebrate good times come on!!!

I think today a lot of people were just celebrating spring - the weather was sooo beautiful! Alas, tonight it started to rain, but we do need April showers to bring May flowers, and to make the grass green again, so the rain is good too!

Greetings!
Somegirl is celebrating two strong, mostly healthy legs . . . and today I am celebrating two hair free strong, healthy legs as of this morning (it's been a long winter!!!)
Namaste is celebrating a tax return . . . and as of today I haven't even filed mine yet, but instead of a big chunk of change like namaste, I won a 50" coloured plasma tv last week! (oops do I dare mention I purchased a ticket and entered a draw).
Busymom is celebrating daffodils, sunshine, warmth, green grass and buds . . . no where near that here - but I am celebrating no snow today (we did get some yesterday!)
Pommum is celebrating spring and rain and beautiful weather . . . again, I'm celebrating no snow!
I am also celebrating my health - I can see, hear, talk, walk, am clear in mind, and without disease or injury . . . I am conscious that there are many who are not - so today I celebrate all I can do and am not focusing on what I can't do or don't have.
Hope, peace, joy, love ...

Somegirl- after everything, I'm happy to hear your news!! It makes me feel like celebrating with you!
Everyone else too!
I'm celebrating Sunshine, heat (27!! My favourite), wind, wonderful waves, walking, a summer storm (just like July), a sermon & service tomorrow that I did on my own that feels terrific, and many good friends.
btw - I shaved yesterday, but it hadn't been THAT long :)

well I for one shave all through winter so I can't say as I have a "big shave" moment.
I'm celebrating (and at the same time am very sad about) being home for the summer. I was also celebrating a friend's brother's stag and doe tonight.

I'm celebrating looking forward to several hours of unstructured 'me time' this afternoon - after a busy few days.
I'm celebrating that I really enjoyed the spring lecture series at my church - Denis Dewey was the key-note speaker and he made Bible stories come to life.
I'm celebrating friends, family (my sister's birthday and last year she was so sick we thought we might lose her), fellowship - and my friends on the Cafe. I'd raise a glass but its only 7:45 am here so it will have to be water.

Greetings!
Pizza . . . mmmm . . . I'm in (pizza is one of my favorites).
You know how exciting a life you live when . . . your major focus of discussion is hair removal.
Where o' where is it 27 C - hoping for a high of 9 C today - I'm living in the wrong part of this country.
"Stag and doe" - is that like stag and stagette?
Housewarming parties on crazyheart's radar . . .
I raise a glass to friendship also, seeler.
Celebrating church spring teas and little tea sandwiches (gotta love them) - went to ours yesterday - today after church UCW is putting on a congregational fellowship luncheon with the leftovers! Hooray!
Hope, peace, joy, love ...

For the record, I too shaved my legs yesterday, and my walk was in shorts and shirtsleeves, even though it was only like 16. Soon I will be wandering through the wilderness to retreive my son and the sun is high in the sky again. I used a little of my extra cash to purchase some things that I need to turn some old jeans into grocery bags and an end of denim to make more and to fix my sofa.

heh, i'm celebrating....a great book I read. It was a mystery..and espionage and it was awesome " Child 44" by Tom Rob Smith
I'm celebrating all your successes (glad you got the jeans, somegirl)
I'm also celebrating life in general,....a dozen women watching chickflicks at church friday night...90 folks on an interfaith bus trip in the community (men, women, children, a multicultural, multifaith group) who had lunch and explored christianity at our stop
I'm celebrating that i'm home...and that yes, we had our first awesome storm...though it was a wee bit too awesome for me.
i'm celebrating that i was able to talk with my parents last night and learn some stuff..that though i would rather have not discovered..that we are able to continue to work on some troubling issues openly and honestly....which is a huge step.

I'm celebrating spring and return to gardening! And that my body seems to be up to the rigours of said gardening. And to seeing my neighbours again in thier gardens, after a long winter.
Although I have been wearing long pants still ... not yet having time to do the 'spring shave' ! I didn't realize it was such a tradition ... should we try to get it made a national holiday??? What do you think ladies?

Good suggestion -- I thought I was the only one who did this. Last weekend in April?
Good news in our house -- my dearest has finished his course of studies in diaconal ministry (last year - we deferred settlement until this year) and we are in the settlement process now. We're staying in BC but will find out May 6 or 7 which congregation is being offered to us. I don't want to share the details on the board but I am feeling excited and filled with suspense now. It's hard to wait on this. In the meantime, he's leaving his industrial job on May 6 as well, after 30 years in mining and forestry. Big changes are ahead for us!

The way I look at it is he needs a break from us just as much as we need a break from him. When I put it to him that way one time, he actually agreed. Anyway, I got him home at around lunch time and he headed out the door to play and wasn't back until supper.

Yep. Yesterday was certainly Shave Day. Must have been something in the air. Or maybe in the water.
I'm celebrating a smaller me - it's absolutely fab going shopping and fitting into clothes that are 2 and 3 sizes smaller than what I used to wear.

I'm celebrating a service that went well, the relaxation that comes after a job well-enough done, greek food (vegetarian) & great wine, and enough sunshine for another walk tonight.
btw - the 27 degrees was here in S. Ontario, but we got nailed with a huge storm in the evenings that cut power & toppled trees, so it was just like July :) Gotta love global warming
Today is much cooler - only 15. Started off rainy & wet, so church was quiet & snuggly this morning. its really sunny now though.
Pinga in her pjs! Yeah -come on - just throw a choir gown over top - I dare ya!

I don't know what a stag and stagette is but i'm going to assume it's the same thing we just use the proper terminology A stag and doe is a party to raise money for a bride and groom before their wedding.
Today I celebrated my great aunts 80th birthday. It was a surprise party which was great she was really surprised, it was cute.

I have been far too busy celebrating!
The last two nights of The Wizard of Oz were a blast. I went Friday and Saturday! We had company for Saturday. The little one was in awe.
Sunday, I went to church alone. The wife needed rest, it was a long run and the wrap party had her up late. Then, later in the day, we gathered with a dozen women for an estrogen afternoon. We each brought food for the foodbank and books to exchange, along with a potluck dish. It was a great weekend!!!!

I would need a whole case of razors. You ever seen an Italian who has not shaved in a season? I look like a yeti!

Maybe we could make the Great Spring Leg Shave a ritual to be performed after completing one's income taxes.
Yup. Wore out a new razor today and still haven't done above the knees. I have too many nicks and cuts. Out with the capris!

Now, I want you to know that I am a fashionable yeti. I usually keep my legs in cornrows. I braid my armpit hair and add lovely beads. Imagine that

Greetings!
ninjafaery says "not done above the knees". Reminds me of "who wears short shorts"? NOT ME!! So two reasons for not doing above the knees - no short shorts, and not much hair
I'm trying really hard to imagine, StevieG . . .
Okay . . . so is there something wrong with us that we are posting and commenting so much on "to shave or not to shave" (and where or where not) . . . like is this in the same league as The Last Post Thread - or not quite obsessive. Perhaps we all don't get out much?
I love the idea of SG's "estrogen party" - the potluck, book exchange, and donation to foodbank - have to file that under "new ideas".
Hope, peace, joy, love . . .
