Back from our trip!

Hi all.

Well, it really happened. Love really *is* love and off we flew on our prize winning trip.

My partner and I went away on the vacation that we won last spring and we just got back on Monday. I can't recommend Grand Cayman Island enough - soooo beautiful - the land, the sea, the people, the FOOD! We swam, snorkled, hung out with stingrays (i even kissed one on the nose - it's 7 years good luck, how could i resist?), explored the island interior and coast, ate amazing seafood and all food, and in general, had a magical time.

So, to all of you who voted for us last spring or who cheered us on or sent congratulations, you have my thanks and I hope you can see my grin, cause I think it's pasted there for a while.

Happy for you all, glad the trip was good. Glad that good people won the trip and overcame the obstacles you did...and glad that the hotel stepped up and you felt safe and able to celebrate your relationship.

you know i just took a few minutes (well, maybe more than a few) and read all the posts from that original Love is Love thread that Pinga started to let people know about the contest... and wow, that really was a roller coaster but so overwhelmingly positive and supportive and lovely. it made me smile.

it will be really interesting to see if there is any response to Homemakers having us in the next issue (did I post that already? i can't remember...). we're part of the Valentines Day issue along with a few of the other stories from the contest. somehow it feels like a whole other kind of being "out" to be in the magazine... available in my local grocery store. not that it would be a surprise to anyone in our small town. you could address mail to Rowan's Moms and it would get delivered.

anyway... nice to end my night this way. nite all.
