Easter

Visitation dreams are a form of grief, but provide hope and may be the person's spirit coming to comfort us.  What if the resurrection is a symbol of the life beyond death that comes to us in the spirit through dreams?

Has anyone had a visitation dream?

It's your brain playing tricks on you ... an irrational response to the excesses of the imagination

No i have never had any such dreams because dead is dead

Yes, I've had visitations dreams, they are very real. And the resurrection is indeed the promise that each and every one of us can indeed continue to be aware even after the death of the corporate form.

And what the dead had no speech for, when living,

They can tell you, being dead: the communication

Of the dead is tongued with fire beyond the language of the living.

I had a couple of visitation dreams and the experience opened for me the possibility that the resurrection and post-resurrection stories may have happened in ways that could have been vision/dream-like states.  For me, viewing the stories from a visitation dream perspective makes the truth of the messages of hope a meaningful and personal.

Before my visitation dreams, the Easter story was something I rejoiced in but did not understand in what it might have felt like to the disciples.  Now, an Easter-type experience is a possibility that I can believe happens spiritually.

My question is whether the resurrection story is a decision by the spirit.  Does the spirit come because it sees the need or do we call the spirit?   Is Easter the choice of God or the call of the people?

I once dreamed my dead neighbour came in to the room to see my family and her family having breakfast together, and she just smiled, pleased, and dissapeared. I feel the dream was my unconcious giving me closure on the issue. And that may be what spirit is anyway, not a separate, entity but a memory.
