How I became evangelical christian

I became to follow Christ when I go to Cegep. I meet Jesus in a catholic charismatic meeting. This was before my coming out. After my conversion, I decide to improve my knowledge of my faith. I follow course on catholicism with Opus Dei. After two years, I have finish my Cegep and I decide to work for Christ. I go to Montreal University in theology studies. At the same time, I decide to become a priest in a religious community.

When I begun to studie higher criticism, I find mythic thesis very interesting. I begin to think that all the bible have no historic ground. At this time, I came out and tell everyone I was gay. I meet a christian guy. He was very liberal and he help me to accept liberal view of God and Jesus. I was proud to convert christian to atheism.

I was very conservative when I enter the university. I do my bac in 4 years... at the end I was member of UCC, very liberal (process theology). I write article on being gay and christian (liberal). I was very active in my UCC community to diffuse liberal theology: to remove the word "God" in liturgy, the trinity, etc. End I left UCC after a battle of power between two groups.

When I lost my job, I was very difficult time for me and my boyfriend. One night, me and him start a prayer to God. What we never do. We just ask God to help us. At the morning, I found a letter under my door. I opened up and found 100$ dollars. For us, it was God answer. We begin to go to more conservative church (presbyterian). After that, God answer a lot of prayer in my life.

A years ago, I move from Montreal to Victoriaville. No presbyterian here. I decide to go in a pentecostal church. I have a very strong feeling that God was here. After the meeting, the pastor ask us if someone want to give is life to Jesus. I raised up and said the prayer. I was born again christian... but I never wan't to be straight or think gay people can't be member of Christ Church.

I begun to studie bible and theology with God Spirit and I found that I have all wrong. We have to beleive in God before studing him and his word. A friend of mine, who was liberal, convert and accept Jesus too. God is so great!

Merci, beaucoup, Patrick. I find it really helps get a handle on a person when you hear a story like that. You seem to be a more open, less judgemental school of evangelicalism than some of us are used to and maybe you'll help us get some logs out of our eyes.

Wow, thanks for showing us some of your trip.  I always like hearing testimonies.  I was just thinking today that testimonies are not so much our story, as God's story about us, told by us.  I think your's does that nicely.
