I find the idea that if you're giving money to charity and in debt, you're not actually giving anything, the loaner is. Does it depend on what you would do with the money if you hadn't donated it?
Should people in debt donate? Does the type of debt matter?

It is my opinion that all people should give. But not always cash.
No the nature of the debt doesn't matter. The amount might matter very much. But all people should share from what they have. ANd not just for a tax break (as too many "stewardship" people tend to highlight. Stewardship sees the tax break as an afterthought--fundraising sees it as a selling point.

I agree that all can give and it doesn't have to be money. Even the article agreed with donating time. I should have been more clear in my OP.
