But not because she changed the form and not because of the decision she made.  True if she disagreed with the recomendation of her staff she should have sent it back unsigned, not altered a form others had already signed.

The reason I say she should resign is for misleading Parliament by first saying she hadn't changed the form.

She should not have lied about changing an already signed document (nor should she have done that in the first place).

She crudely altered a comission report. This is a crass insult to the comission which was supposed to be arms - length. This is also possibly a criminal act.

Then she lied to parliament - which should also be a criminal act.

Had a Liberal or NDP government done this the Canadian Press would howl in protest and expect the resignation of the government, but they treat Conservative political chicanery with a velvet glove.

The press in Canada hold different political parties to different standards.

and ignored blatantly the skills & valued perspective of the whole CIDA organization.  Who the heck is she to single-handedly decide that CIDA is wrong, with nary an argument or scrap of evidence?  And who the heck is she that she can swear to the people of Canada that she didn't do it or that CIDA did, - that's a lot of my money & yours that is managed by experts, and she along with her dictator of a PM defends themselves in veto'ing it.

And in terms of Israel vs. Palestine, the PM is black & white, completely disrespectful of the process of peace, order & good government where he could very easily accept that there is no black & white on this issue, and the answer can not reflect a black & white premise.  If black & white answers have become his foreign  policy anywhere, we need a new PM.

I just want to smack Oda and Harper upside the head.  Bev, for getting into this in the first place, and Creepy Uncle Steve (Harper) for completely trying to sweep this under a rug.  It reminds me of a friend of mine in University when we'd call him out on something like "You've been up for 80 hours.  YOU NEED TO SLEEP", and his response would always be "No, it's okay, it's okay".

Harper is trying to ignore the lack of accountability and transparency, and what seems stupider is that he thinks we'll ignore it if he ignores it.  Add this to the lack of transparency regarding the crime bill finances and stacking the Senate, and proroguing Parliament when the 'evil coalition' looked about to form... I've had it.  Someone give me a paddle.  Creepy Uncle Steve needs a smack on the back of his scary Ken haircut.

She should absolutely resign for lying to Parliament, but not for altering a document. Ministers don't send back documents UNSIGNED. They make a decision and if the decision is "no" they reflect that decision by over-riding the recommendation by adding a "NOT" and then signing the altered document. That's why the date beside her signature on the document is later than the date of the bureaucrats. She was over-riding what they recommended.

I don't think she should resign.  She shouldn't have that option.  Just flat out fire her.  And I think she should face her constituants to let them decide if she should lose her seat as well.

I am her constituant, though I did not vote for her.  I believe she should lose her seat.
