The Beginning of the Search for True Gnosis/Salvation

Pondering my past as I sip on my morning coffee:. I remember as a young teen slowly waking up to the idea that the adult world was random & not "fair" or "rational." Most adults were motivated by fear, insecurity or just plain ignorance. Orwell's 1984 and Huxely's Brave New World shook me to my existential roots. My suspicions were confirmed. Yikes! This was the world I was entering. I had a feeling of being lied to. Science addressed the "how" but left out the "why!" School was boring! Churches were out of touch!

Is Hell Eternal?

Here's an interesting take on the theme of Eternal Salvation/Eternal Damnation I came across. Hell IS eternal!" It must be because it guarantees human freedom and human choice. Without choice there is no love. God is Love - eternal Love. We must have the freedom to choose God but also to not choose God or else we're not doing so willingly and not out of Love! Hell guarantees our freedom. This line of thinking leaves the question... "does anyone spend eternity in Hell?" I guess theoretically, maybe.

Post-Christianity

As far as I can tell its a popular term. It seems to serve a certain purpose. It distances one from the institutional aspect of religion and emphasizes the community aspect. I think thats a good thing. Also it seems to go along with a couple of ideas such as a rejection of certain dogmas; namely. God sending people to etrernal damnation and exclusivity claims for any one religion. There also seems to be a link with thse interested more in "doing" Chritianity than professing belief. Post-Christian are more ecumenical and humanistic in the original sense of the term.
