ANd why would we care? I remain of the belief that hockey season should end with the melting of natural ice and snow.

I voted Yes, and I'm staying that way. Sens in seven!

I would love to see the Ottawa Senators win the cup, but unfortunately after last night's performance it is highly doubtful. The team has a crew of spoiled overpaid players that look out for number1. They are more interested in dressing in the latest fashion than trying to put a puck in the net. Thank god for Sydney Crosby who is one of the few players left who play for the love of the game not the money.

Which is why he's signed so many endorsement deals that he's in every other commercial on TV, right?

the jab at emery is totally unfair. He likes to dress in a very unique and creative way. He is also a very good and underpaid goaltender (in comparison to other goalies of his skill and work level).
Peace

Sydney Crosby is stupid not to take the endorsement deals. There is a reason that he is asked to be a model for their products. There are not many athletes left that children can look up to. I used to be a big sports fan in the 80"s when players played for the love of the game. I think that there is a big problem in all professional sports, not just hockey or the Ottawa Senators. Everyone has become too greedy, it's not hardly worth wathching anymore. Only the rich can even afford a ticket today, forget taking your family. While I am ranting how many of you still watch the Olympics? It has become such a money grab that most cities cannot even host them without going in the red. Only the athletes that have access to big bucks compete. Forget about small towns. You have to travel hours to even have access to any type of faciity, which takes money.

This has got to be disappointing for Sens fans, but the reality is that they lost to a very talented, deep, well-coached, tough team - probably one of the strongest Cup winners in a long, long time.
If Burke can keep the Ducks together (and under the salary cap) over the off-season, look for them to repeat. They're likely to be as close to a dynasty as well see from now on.
Congrats to the Sens for a great year - and long live the Ducks!
