But really the question makes no grammatical sense. Christmas is a season, a celebration, and occasion. It is not an actor and so it can not "sell out". It can be sold out of course. Maybe the question should have asked if Christmas has been sold out?
But I would have still said no. Despite all the efforts there is still a bit of Christmas around. As I said, must be the optimist in me. Or maybe I am channelling Linus Van Pelt (no blanket yet though)

I voted no also.
For all the years that I almost detested this holiday, for some reason, this year, a feeling of wonder and magic has enveloped me. Even though we are a family of 7 living off of one income due to circumstances right now, and even though we won't be doing much for gift buying to impress the kids, somehow, some way, it has made it's way into my heart in a way that it never has before. Even my husband, who normally grumbles and groans when it's time to get the tree out, of his OWN FREE WILL, went down to the garage, dug it out and happily put it up this year :D Something special is a-brewin methinks!

I don't believe Christmas has been sold out at all! It is a wonderful season to remind us all of good will toward men! It's not about the bows and gifts and money being spent. It's about time together and appreciating one another and just be grateful for your life and the people surrounding you! I would love to see the world go back to a kinder, gentler more traditional low key Christmas. A time where everyone met at church on Christmas Eve and the laughter and friendship flowed from everywhere! I think the world can still do this - we just need everyone to start believing and living life - not buying life!!!
