Your questions are too limited. We will no doubt be near some water as we are planning to drive down to Vancouver Island to see my sister and her husband. We will also be seeing trees, wildlife, family and friends.....to name a few things. We also do not have children so we won't be spending time with the kids at home.

I want to vote and your choices don't work for me, :-(

I agree, the answers are a little too limiting.

Relaxing by the water -- I hate camping and going to the cottage, so sitting by the water is not relaxing to me.

With the kids at home -- I don't have kids and all of the kid centered parts of my jobs are on hold till September.

I get a vacation? -- Well, I have to work every Thursday for sure, so I can't take a week off, but I'm not overworked so much that I even really want a vacation. (I've been at this job for less than a year.)

I work on a contract basis which gives me the luxury of scheduling my own hours (especially around my kids) but because I am scraping from paycheque to paycheque as a struggling academic, I am always working. Besides, in the province where I live, the summers are great and it is just nice to be outside every day. It is when it is -35 that I want a vacation!!

Why the assumption about kids? Not a very inclusive way of putting things. Saying "Spending time at home" would have been better.

I will be spending my time with my horses, dog and wonderful felines. My husband and I hope to go away for one week in August. I would like to go north but we may also head to Chicago. Sand ,Wind and water are in the picture somewhere along the way as is all the wonderful wildlife that choses to present itself.

Part of the summer will be spent doing research, silent retreats and reflection.

Part of my summer will be spent at events being sponsored by the UC - one in North Bay and one near Ottawa

I do hope to get a few days away sometime just to relax and have some time for me.

My daughter and I are going on a one day boat cruise around the Thousand Islands in July

That's my plans for now!

We students never have a vacation! We study and then we have to work for the summer! But I like it that way: you never get bored and holidays are more precious!
