I don't know where the right place *would* be, but the waste of money has been staggering. That much sercurity was not needed. On the other hand, why do cowards wearing balaclavas find it necessary to resort to violence? Presumably the violence itself is their agenda, because they sure don't have any other.

It should be possble to hold it in  a city - there may have been other places in TO but and this is a real but -  have our society got to a place where such events cannot be held?  Has  the very very small group of violent thinkers (their philosophy)and actors taken over?  Have those people proved the need for the over the top security?  Now the excess money spent can now be judified? 

These are questions to be asked in hind-sight - reflection on what is happened.

 I wonder what happened to the more moderate protesters who perhaps could have (perhaps should have) shut the Black Bloc people out? This was (or is, or should be) the role of nonviolent Christian activists to shut this craziness down. But they are either not prepared or non existent.
