This does not pertain to all worshippers or to any posters here personally.
But as I read the threads, I see that most Sunday mornings should be entertainment or theatre - jumping around, drama, quick bits of this and that, music that stimulates, nothing too deep, nothing too far from secular, fit everthing into an hour or less time slot, eat lots, spout platitudes and go home" feeling good, feeling groovy,"
Worship leaders should be vivacious, entertainers, stand-up comics, ruffle no feathers and always keep one eye on the clock.
For many years the churches I attended have held Christmas services on Christmas Eve - children's pageants, candlelight services, etc. - but not on Christmas Day.
In my childhood there was a service on Christmas Day, and not on Christmas Eve. Now I think only my local Anglican and Catholic churches hold Christmas Day services nearby, which I may choose to attend (again) this year.
Do you have experience with Christmas Day services?
Why are so many churches removing the public Confession of Sin and Assurance of Pardon from Sunday Morning Worship?
Dooes your service still have it? Why? Why not?
We haven't discussed this for a long time. Do you like the practice of "passing the peace?" What do you get from it? What does your neighbour in the pew receive?
Is it a forced practice?
Does your church do it - every Sunday or just on Communion Sunday?
What are your honest thoughts about this?
