so, even though i'm not particularly good at asking for help or prayers, i'm being inspired by Serena to just post here and ask for a good outcome from tomorrow's cardiologist appointment - stress test to begin and then talk about what's going on.  i've already had a blood workup and they'll determine tomorrow whether i need an MRI, etc.

I just thought about this and so if anyone would like their prayer to be sent on the wings of a dove - leave them here.

Do we need to pray "in Jesus name". Do we need an internmediary for prayer.?

I once had a Roman catholic friend explain why they pray through intermediators. She likened it to taking a bouquet of flowers to someone. We would not just shove them in a vase but we would arrange them orderly and attractively to give to the person. She said prayers were the same. They would be arranged orderly and attractively for God.

We have a very diverse range of view points in our local United Church, which on the whole I am really pleased with.  There are times when the service has prayers included it with responsive readings that do not accord with my beliefs.  Today our Minister did a Calvinist reaffirmation service.  When I looked at the service I knew that it really would not fit with my views and that it would be difficult for me to reply back the words of salvation that the bulletin would have me repeat.  He knows that this is difficult for me.  Last year (he does this each year) we jo
