As you know, WonderCafe.ca  has been an experiment of the United Church of Canada and at General Council in August , the cafe's fate will be in the hands of those who are there to do the work of the church.

When The United Church of Canada came into being in 1925 and everyone was wondering where we would line up theologically on a whole host of doctrinal possibilities we brought forward 20 articles of faith.

Every article but two begins with the phrase "We Believe."  Those two artivcles that deviate begin with "We acknowledge." which is hardly equivalent to statements of unbelief.

A testimony given by a poster  last week has sparked much controversy, discussion and debate. Now  those of us who are Christian are people of the Story. We know the Christian story ( in one way or another) and as we live and walk the path of faith in our own lives, we add our story to the tapestry.

We tell our stories and hear stories from other travellers - some Christian and some not and these stories make our faith firmer  , more open and more accepting.

Have been doing some reading on the Web and have found that the Fundamentalist have honed giving testimonies down to a science. How to write them; how to give them; different formats for presenting them to Born-Again audience; other Christians and others who aren't Christians.
