I am convinced that the rumours of possible terrorists and human traffickers (and disease) originated with the Conservatives and their sympathetic press people. It is slander as it is unsupported by evidence, only the claims of a corrupt and murderous government.

Is Lord Selkirk were to bring a shipload today, the government would be implying there were Scottish separatists and criminals aboard.

This just isn't the Canadian way - or is it? remember the treatment of Chinese immigrants and Jewish refugees before WWII.

Soon it will be another addition to Canada's Hall of Shame.

I am strongly in favour of giving them the figurative boot.  All this does is set a precedent for all the other "refugees" that will come swarming to Canada in the following years, as Canadians consider themselves too polite to just say no
